I've even heard a surprising number of boomers float the idea that they'll do some fuckery to altogether just avoid having one or following the results.
And they may, people do stupid shit when they're afraid of losing power and protection. But I feel like the ones pulling the strings would realize that they're not quite ready for that level of delegitimization yet. At that point it would be so obviously mask off, they could never convincingly tout the Our Democracy bullshit again, and they still haven't disarmed everyone yet.
What concerns me is their timeline - 2030 seems to be their goal for something to institute some global new world order bullshit and they seem to be fighting to stay on target with that timeline and the goals of it such as great replacement. As we get closer to that time, if they are unable to meet their goals, it stands to reason they could become more desperate in their actions.

No lmfao this is the point that people like myself are making when saying shit like "Trump isn't going to magically fix everything". Our system is inundated with self-interested grifting assholes and, frankly, the only people at this point who are capable of running as outsiders are either that or MTG-tier crazed/retarded as normal people still won't fucking engage with the political system due to what it'll do to their personal lives.

Trump has done a lot, more than any president in a half-century, but it's all cultural and as important as it is, he's not a force capable of wrangling this system into a form that resembles something "of the people, by the people, for the people". It'll take collapse of some nature to do that and in the rebuilding process some consensus on how to avoid corruption in the future.

I've been saying for over a year and a half now that I expect WW3 to kick off prior to the election. I also expect it to kick off immediately after regardless of who wins.

There's no logical reason to expect the HNIC to suddenly gain some sense and give up on their dreams of crushing the USSR a country our government has no logical reason to be in an adversarial relationship with, and Iran some other country our government has been eyeing like a hungry dog for reasons known only to them and the small-hat faggots who know where the suspiciously small bodies are buried.

America needs a Vlad Tepes to fix its problems in a generation, and a guy like him is itself a repudiation of the concept of Democracy.

Personally, I've refrained from making historical comparisons because I believe we're in the middle of history. We won't get a Caesar, a Khan, a Tepes, any of that. We'll end up with someone that other people are compared to centuries from now, not the other way around.

But that person is not, and never has been Donald John Trump. He fits that description somewhat, but in the grand arc of history he's the precursor to whoever comes out of this shit, not the man/men fit for that particular job.

President Joe Biden's campaign has reportedly commissioned a survey to determine whether Vice President Kamala Harris could win against Donald Trump if she becomes the Democratic nominee, according to a new report.
Three sources told The New York Times that the campaign had commissioned the head-to-head poll between Harris and Trump after Biden faced pressure to drop out due to a poor debate performance.
The sources did not say what the campaign intended to do with the results.

You know, I'm watching half the Democrats on Twitter argue Biden can't beat Trump, and the other half arguing their only chance is to unite behind Biden, and I'm imagining every Democrat in the world being stuck in this endless logical loop. And it just makes me  smile.
