Are the people who are throwing rocks at Vshojo upset that they are nepo hiring or is the reasoning that they're claiming to be having tryouts on who they'll be hiring and you think they're just going to nepo hire anyway? I'm a bit confused from reading the posts here.

Personally, I don't care that they're hiring people they already know and have worked with. I know I probably wouldn't of gotten half the jobs I've worked if it wasn't for having a friend or family who would vouch for me and was already working there. So it just seems kind of silly to go after them for that reason so I'm assuming it's the latter.

I dont think anyone cares about them having nepo hires, it's just that they have ONLY nepohires and have done nothing to grow new talent. The retirment home meme rings a little too true because they are doing zero for up and comers, they're kind of the Epic Games Store of vtubing
also having auditions open when they have no intention on hiring people who audition when those auditions were previously used as an opportunity by scammers to pretend to be vshojo replying AND the fact that vshojo went out of their way to cover this up to protect themselves instead of making a simple PSA to let people know the scam was happening AND the recent VSPO leak making a lot of people's data available already all just makes it feel like a pointlessly shitty move on their part. Then writing essays crying about how unfair it is that people think it's a kind of shitty move doesnt help

If they want to get rid of the nepo-hiring allegations just simply hire a low view vtuber they never collabed or interacted with in the auditions they are hosting.

I'm ESL but at least for me "I have other friends who don't want to join who are working their asses off and doing amazing things" sounds like she wanted to do more nepo-hire but her friends didn't wanted to join VSJ not that they don't do nepo hires

Regardless of what anyone thinks about Vshojo or their pretty long since passed issues. I think a lot of the nepo talk is pretty lacking in common sense as a business and people should stop expecting talent agencies and management to be charity cases.

If you had two choices in front of you.

One, A person with a strong body of work in the field you're looking for and on top of that they have an established rapport and good relationship with your existing talents whom you will be wanting them to be able to work with and do projects together.

And the other, A random nobody with little more to show for themselves than just some nice words saying they'd really like a shot.

Who do people expect them to pick up lol. This is a job application not make a wish foundation, they're going to pick up the strongest applicants available to them, if Snuffy wants in they're not going to be like "gosh sorry sure bet successful hire, we need to saviorfag a 2view this time but thanks for applying!"

And the other, A random nobody with little more to show for themselves than just some nice words saying they'd really like a shot.

Who do people expect them to pick up lol. This is a job application not make a wish foundation, they're going to pick up the strongest applicants available to them, if Snuffy wants in they're not going to be like "gosh sorry sure bet successful hire, we need to saviorfag a 2view this time but thanks for applying!"

when the "shit stirring" in this situation was just some benign shit "he tweeted happy birthday in response to Kiara's birthday announcement, not @ her account, but @ the HoloEN official account" I can't say I really put fault on him, the people that lose their shit over that are the retards in this situation and laughing at them is the appropriate response. I think in general the term "nepo hire" is being used pretty loosely in a lot of the discussion. Which I kinda get from Zen's POV (as loathe as I am to say that about the TTS retard) Boiling these hires down to "Zen and Friends" or Just Nepo hires ends up discounting the fact that they are all individually perfectly qualified for the spot and instead insinuates they just got the spot because they're friends with Zen or some other Vshojo member. (which with people like Zen and Mouse, and now Haruka, you'd be hard pressed to find many EN indies of decent size without some personal connection to one or more of those 3 because they just outreach and network hardcore and are in a company that doesn't place any barriers to them doing so)

It could have been said better (as is the case most times Zen tries to make some PR statement) but it's not really the sort of thing that should be left without pushback because letting that view persist unchallenged is pretty bad in the long run if you do want people to keep applying.

Nobody is saying that, what people are saying is that if only your friends are gonna enter the company anyways, why hold auditions at all? Why not approach the candidates directly instead?
