The insane thing is how likely this assassination probably happened BECAUSE Trump was winning. The tide had already turned towards a Trump win after the debate and a complete brainbroken soyboy thinking that the only thing between saving democracy and far right fascism is a bullet sounds reasonable.

The guy probably didn't even own a gun until last week.
he had amazing aim for a guy who just got a gun, he was a quarter of an inch off killing a president

I love that in the footage behind Trump there's a Vietnam vet (black service hat, burgundy shirt) head on a swivel, looking for the sniper. He just knew. Fucking class.

That skill sleeps but never fades.
Just proof there is no god. What a disaster for the world was so close to being diverted today.

Assuming of course it's not all a work, and Trump popped a blood capsule so he could 'arise bloody but unbowed' after 'the beaners tried to kill me'. Convenient there's no live 'assassin'.

It should be illegal to be this stupid...

Was it not? That's what some news station or reporter said after it initially happened. I watched about 5 or so minutes of coverage, someone said an AR15 chambered in .22 but maybe that was when they were speculating. What was the gun and what round was it?
Given alone the fact it could be seen in a photo without a phantom path means it was low energy. If we had the camera model of the bullet photo I would actually be willing to do the math and post it.

I see people saying "how did he miss the shot against a big old man", but with my limited knowledge on guns, if he really was using a small firearm (some early reports suggested a .22), the fact that he even hit Trump at all from that distance is impressive.

Again, limited knowledge of guns, the most I've ever shot is an air-rifle. But I know that it's not nearly as easy as FPS games make it look. I'll let the yanks correct me if I'm speaking out of my arse.
100-200m shot with a light bullet. Gust of wind, and 1 inch deviation becomes 2, just enough to change the course of history. .22 and 5.56mm shoots very light bullets that are affected by wind. The bullet crack is the same as the SS that shot back, so it definately is a 5.56. A .308 would be more grizly to the ear. If he was grazed by shots at the cheek too, it suggests a .22, as 5.56 would also rip more skin. A very fast .22 would be an awful pick for this. Kennedy's shooter used a heavier caliber (6.5x52mm), intermediary between 5.56 and .308.
