It’s being speculated that the bullet actually hit the teleprompter and he was hit by shards of glass and debris rather than the bullet itself. But in addition to the confirmed dead someone in the area behind him is also in critical condition.

I initially thought it was a .22 with the little bit of blood visible on Trump's face but after seeing the picture of blood on the bleacher from the person in the crowd, it had to be a rifle round. I think it's been confirmed it was 5.56.
