The part that bugs me is people wanting the actual murder to happen. Even if Trump died, I don't know how people think that would be better?

Sure there would be no more Trump, but now you have a very angry base, and whoever takes his spot would pretty much have a confirmed win and you don't know if they would be even harder right leaning than Trump.

(It's wild that people that forget Trump was a pain in the ass to the GOP types that wanted to go do some wars)

I think it's not so much that people love Trump but that they love what he represents, and Trump being assassinated and made a martyr for a civil war would be more of that.

from the overhead shots in this thread, the shooter was allowed get inside 1-200 meters with a weapon and wasn't noticed climbing onto a roof and setting up.

The one thing I really don't get is how this happened now and not 4-8 years ago. Back then there was a genuine air of vitriol surrounding Trump. He felt like the main antagonist of the entire Earth if you watched American news media. It seemed like a matter of time before someone would try to pull something like this.

But now Trump's energy is so much lower.

He should be calling up Erik Prince to bring his people rather than relying on the DEI hires at the secret service. It’s doubtful that there’s no correlation between getting their first female director with a mandate to “diversify” the agency and the incompetence we’ve been seeing from it.

Yep, and it raises two interesting questions, was there a manpower issue at the event that contributed to the security gaps, and is there any truth to the rumor that Trump's been getting denied requested additional SS detail by the DHS?
