The one thing I really don't get is how this happened now and not 4-8 years ago. Back then there was a genuine air of vitriol surrounding Trump. He felt like the main antagonist of the entire Earth if you watched American news media. It seemed like a matter of time before someone would try to pull something like this.

But now Trump's energy is so much lower. You don't see trump signs in every other yard driving through the country like you did this time last election season. The media isn't portraying Trump as public enemy number one anymore because they know the scare tactics won't work after we saw how mundane a Trump admin was.

The main difference between 2016 and 2024 is that the Republicans don't like the mean tweets thing and were even more turned off after Jan 6th. In general nobody's really hyped about this election and feels like both choices suck.

It's a bit odd to me because Trump did a pretty good job of sticking to America outside occasional strikes like when the Russians were using illegal gases to attack in Syria. Plus the shittalking of North Korea seemed to stop them doing threatening shit for a bit.

Maybe it's just soreness over DeSantis failing so hard.

Today has been eye opening.
In a way, i think I never truly realised how fucking GONE some people are. I always assumed that in a pretty damn fucking clear black vs white situation even convinced lefties would at least feign some kind of empathy, or would gracefully shut the fuck up, but clearly I was wrong. I see, so he was purposefully obstructing a federal investigation for the sake of updoots.
I think he should receive a harsh punishment in that situation, "Forcibly taking his internet router, allowing him no dessert, forcing him to eat ALL of his vegetables (even the icky broccoli) and no television or video games for a year." It's tough love, but I think it'll do him some good.
