Today, I made a wondrous breakthrough: Mugwort and Loki helped resolve the mess I left behind with my former spirit companion.

After an initial card reading with my druid plant oracle deck, which seemed to indicate that the time was now to heal our relationship, I conducted a journey. I met him at his old home, with his old wife, and we had a frank conversation. I told him that now I understand why we could never work out having a romantic relationship, and why the first time we’d had sex had felt like a violation.

I had thought that in order to progress in my work as a druid and seiðr worker, I would need to sever all ties with him. But fate brought us together for a reason, and that reason was that he was meant to be my teacher.

I applaud this Redditor's masterful takedown and significant contribution my personal enjoyment. That really kind of demonstrates how Staph's "wins" are more "people getting tired of random non sequiturs and forgetting what the discussion was about to begin with."

I noticed that too and had already added the original comment to multiquote. That's a screaming red flag that can be seen from space. Your therapist should never, ever be telling you that you shouldn't discuss things with anyone else. I'm sticking to my original argument: this woman is a very, very bad therapist. Maybe she didn't start out that way, but she's a terrible therapist now. As PYP points out, it also completely contradicts Staph's previous assertions that the therapist is fine with these "communities."

Ugh. The thing about the therapist sticks in my craw. She might be telling the same thing to other, more vulnerable clients. Her bio reads like she trained in CBT at one point and never bothered to update her knowledge or study any other therapies, but it sounds like she only ever engages in talk therapy and is clearly very terrible at it.

Also: your thread isn't 2000 pages, Staph. But we believe in you!

In my opinion, it's entirely reasonable to assume that a conversation like this took place:

STAPH: "They don't like when I post about true crime, or about liking metal bands and how I have a crush on the lead singer, and my spiritual beliefs about ghosts and how they could manifest. THERAPIST: "Well, if these people online attack you when you talk about these things, maybe you should consider not talking about them online where you know people will react irrationally and do things like make death threats."

Like, I feel it's wholly appropriate for a doctor to say "if it hurts when you hit yourself, don't hit yourself".

I took it to mean that the therapist was saying that "you should never tell others the things that you tell me," but I do agree-- now that you put it that way-- that it's not actually clear what Stephanie was saying, and it's therefore not clear what the therapist was trying to tell her. As @Polexia Aphrodisia said, it's also possible (or probable) that we're hearing something that's being filtered through several layers of thick-skulled interpretation.

This is also why it's so easy to get drawn off-track when reading one of her slapfights: nothing she says makes any sense, and none of it has anything to do with the original conversation. I do admire the slapfight participants who can manage not to get dragged into the weeds. Fortunately for us, this website exists to go wading through the weeds, parking lot and otherwise.

Remember that everything we know about the counselor and what she has said is through Staph's sped interpretation. This is the same person who just described the reddit exchange as being unfair treatment of an autistic person who just wanted to talk about her favorite band. Which isn't true. Most of what she says isn't true. She's a liar who lies but has an innate need to participate in and "win" slapfights. The counselor is just another puppet for her to deflect to when she feels she is getting push back. Just like all the "friends" and "partners" she cites as a source of authority. We don't know what they say or believe because ultimately we only know what Staph tells us to suit her purpose.

I’m pretty sure your apartment is a pigsty. You don’t need spoons to keep your house tidy. It’s hilarious, honestly, because it’s so dumb. When pricing art, you definitely do factor in your supplies and time… but it’s also the skill level that resulted in that time. Years of skill and practice make artists faster and more efficient. It’s X number of hours of work, condensed into Y hours spent creating what used to take X hours. Skill and practice is a huge part of how the artists’ will price their work. You naturally become able to produce higher-level pieces in a shorter amount of time.

As the saying goes: $1 for turning the screw, $9,999 for knowing which screw to turn.

Staph just thinks far too highly of herself. $30 loss my ass. Nobody was buying them anyway, she honestly saved you the money of having to have the damn things up on your website in the first place.
