I fear this as well. The sense of foreboding is.. real. The main difference between 2016 and 2024 is that the Republicans don't like the mean tweets thing and were even more turned off after Jan 6th. In general nobody's really hyped about this election and feels like both choices suck.

It's a bit odd to me because Trump did a pretty good job of sticking to America outside occasional strikes like when the Russians were using illegal gases to attack in Syria. Plus the shittalking of North Korea seemed to stop them doing threatening shit for a bit.

Watching the pre shooting videos my biggest takeaway is that law enforcement is unprepared for widespread political violence targeting specific people. I remember reading that and thinking 'They would never do something like that for Joe Biden. Or Hillary Clinton'
