Even if he'd brought his own comically large ladder that he climbed up to get on the roof, most normies who spotted him would have assumed that he was a contracted security detail or something. Unless the guy was wearing a domino mask or looking around nervously and wiping his face with a giant handkerchief, people would just assume he had a reason to be there.

Probably the Secret Service's (unjustified, it turns out) reputation for competence caused people to mentally slack off. Most (not all) people would assume that if something was truly a threat, the Secret Service would have handled it, so anything they see must be no big deal.

I can't figure out how he didn't have a view of the shooter until after the shots already sounded. How long had he been up there facing in that exact direction? (For the record I think this is incompetence and not malice, but the sniper detail has some explaining to do)

Gonna use this as a chance to post my old screed about potentially assassinating biden. Simply put, once assassinations are on the table - for anyone - then everyone needs to get the fuck away from the table.

there's a BBC interview of a guy who tried to get the shooter pointed out to the cops and Secret Service, and was befuddled why Trump wasn't already whisked out of harm's way

He didn't adjust aim that I could see. It looked like he had the shooter in his sights and didn't fire until the 'tard did.
From LEO I've interacted with he was probably waiting for someone to give the go-ahead to shoot.

If we're being generous, someone at the command post fucked up because agents on the ground were going to take him into custody, so he was told to hold fire. There would incentive to do this as to not interrupt the rally, just have the plainsclothes tackle him and get him to the party van. They were too slow. When he saw the flash, sniper fired because too late at that point, lol.

If we're going full Tin foil, clearly that was always the plan. No need to have the loose end that is Jack Ruby finish off your Lee Harvey if you have your SWAT sniper kill them .5 seconds after doing their deed.

Damn now, the question becomes was it a person who was of the rocker or was it a deliberate act
I have registered that shooter was dead. So I intend to believe both at the moment.

You do realize that it is not political affiliation that is the key factor to who uses benefits at the greatest rate. That area is also known as the bible belt or better yet....
