It’s possible that this affected the response. But the response is pretty typical from all other attempted shootings. There wasn’t two minorities or women on the roof getting eyes on the shooter.

Furthermore, most active threats to presidents that utilize firearms are on the ground and they try to get as close as possible.

You have to remember that the SS isn’t a bunch of cowboys. The have to confirm a threat is lethal. They don’t just shoot people because it looks suspicious. SS engages with people that jump the White House fence and will risk getting shot themselves to apprehend a person who could be extremely dangerous.

I’m not ready to blame DEI on this. I’m perfectly ready to blame whomever was doing ground control, which many times is with the help of local PD. In time we’ll get more details. I think it’s too soon to draw any conclusions.

You would think SS would be on a hair trigger, ready to ventilate anyone who even looks at the President funny, but it is true that they have to basically double-confirm a threat before proceeding. The video of the SS sniper hesitating before shooting at the would-be assassin shows just that, confirmation through scope, confirmation with naked eye, and we can infer he was verbally speaking with a higher-up or an SS agent nearby him was, to get the go-ahead to shoot. TO ME it seems that the initial suspicion was that it was a Trump fan climbing to get a better vantage point; his rallies are usually full to the brim, with people outside jockeying for a better view. And TO ME it seems that there was either supposed to be security on that roof or there was supposed to be security with eyes on that roof and the ball was dropped.

YES attendees warned security about the shooter, but security can't take that as gospel and has to verify for themselves. Imo if this was a glowie op I don't think they would have used someone too young to drink and I think the assassination would have actually succeeded. The only reason it didn't succeed is because the faggot was going for a dramatic head shot that would have exploded Trump's brains live on air. If he'd aimed for center mass, Trump might well be dead (does not look to me like he's wearing protective gear of any kind).

I did not work in SS but worked closely with several former SS and they shot the shit about their job a lot. Would shock you how incompetent some of these people are.
