The news keeps reporting Thomas Matthew Crooks is the shooter but last night I saw a lot of people connect that name to an X user @Jewgazing. The user tried to troll media outlets by posting a photo of himself and claiming the shooter had been identified. It seems they really have run with it, I've seen outlets lie that he's been identified with DNA by the FBI. I'm not convinced they would have gotten the DNA report that fast.

Thomas's account is no longer protected but he's since deleted all of his posts and changed his pfp. Assuming he wasn't hauled in by the secret service already, people should browse the chan boards where you'll probably find this guy bragging about the media coverage. Am I wrong and is Thomas really the shooter? He just doesn't look like the guy to me.

If that is true, the level of incompetence by everyone involved is just incredible. They knew a guy was up on the roof overlooking the event. They don't have the snipers zeroed in on him. They send officer dumbass up the ladder to have a talk with the fella about why he is up on that there roof.

He points a rifle at officer dumbass who runs away. The counter snipers are not looking at the roof with the guy on it. And he takes a shot at Trump that nearly hits him.

If true (and this is the AP saying this), it almost points to them having a policy of not aggressively dealing with potential threats and letting a sniper get off the first shot before responding.

We do indeed live in a society.

I realize that coincidences happen and people aren't perfect but it is getting fucking difficult to not think this was a glowie-sanctioned assassination that just happened to not succeed.

The best thing that you can hope for is that people become increasingly disillusioned and skeptical of news outlets. The whiplash between the coverage yesterday and today will make less people trust them.

Anyone watching CNN or MSNBC at this point is already too brain rotted to come back to reality and has already cozied into a silo with fellow bugmen who will not challenge their view of reality.

*Some* Secret Service ladies make sense. Useful for social events and to blend into a crowd. But you sure as shit don't use them as your heavies. And above all, you don't diversity hire them. You still need your crowd blending woman to be as highly competent as possible.

The Secret Service does more than just protect the President and other important officials. One of their other primary (and I think their actual original) jobs is anything related to counterfeit currency and other related financial crimes. Anyone can do those jobs, but putting women on any kind of security detail instead of bigger, stronger men is stupid. Anyone, man or woman, who couldn't drag a wounded president safely into cover by themselves is unfit for the job.

Its a strange situation. Because it was claimed that he had no ID at all at the scene. That with his head blown away, he couldn't be visually identified and the only choice was to identify him through DNA. But what DNA would they test him against?

I think they knew from materials not at the scene of death who he was (like his car) and they ran a simple DNA test to confirm he was who they thought he was.
