Yeah buddy, words are evil. I'm glad denying the Holocaust is illegal in most countries, since those words can cause violence; the US is making good headway on forbidding it too. I hear there's this one website, Kiwi Farms, that literally kills trans folks with words, but don't worry, it'll get destroyed eventually too, in just the same way.

I don't know, but I'm not making fun of anyone who has written such stories, so I have no reason to post any here.

The crux of this matter is that no children are harmed through a story. There's not even the argument that someone has traced a story of a real child, as happens with artwork. If words don't qualify for protections, then we'll find that nothing does.

For real. It doesn't allow art to be posted anywhere except in the 'covers', and you could easily report that.

I'd say there should be a ban on all child porn that involves real child actors (eg iCarly fanfiction between minors) and all child porn stories of real people that don't play a character (eg a president's daughter). Otherwise, if they're counting all child porn whether fictitious or real, one needs only to look at the Black Butler fanfiction category to know that child porn stories are rampant.

Nearly three thousand fics that are likely Ciel, a 12 year old boy, being raped. That's JUST with the romance tag. Many more sex fanfics don't use those genre tags. This doesn't even include the child abuse fanfics that aren't rated M but are hidden in T (more common in longer fanfics) and the ones that are rated K but still have some child abuse such as a man kissing a 12 year old child.

It also isn't including the fact that there's even MORE of those fics that aren't labeled with characters because, for a long time, Fanfiction.net didn't have the ability to tag characters. So you had to write it in the description. Meaning there is soooo so much child porn that's not easily searchable being hosted on FF.net.

Going after ff.net for written stories of "child porn" (where no actual children are remotely affected) is crazy when we've seen examples in this thread of ACTUAL child porn producers/traders advertising in comments sections because ff.net admin was/is too retarded to let people report anonymous comments on fics that aren't theirs. If the issue here were actually concerned about protecting children and not just crying about how words are icky, then they would be forcing ff.net admin to crack down on anon comments... not fiction.
Remember, child porn is bad because it's impossible to produce without seriously harming a living, human being who isn't even old enough to understand what's going on -- it's not because it's gross! The fact that it's repellant is besides the point. It's about the damn kids

AO3 will probably stay safe because they're basically not beholden to payment processors. Unlike ff.net, they don't have ads (and the admin isn't retarded about handling spam comments/posts). And AO3's supporters will cough up during each donation drive even if they have to mail checks.

It happened at the same time e621 purged all their young humanoid entries. That site was recently blocked in Switzerland and the EU states for that content and Arizona almost passed a bill to ban the site.

You know who else is based in Arizona? GoDaddy. I'm thinking red states are cracking down on obscenity.

You do realize that all of the known cases of kids being groomed by being shown porn inevitably involved mostly 100% legal porn of (real, live action) adults? If somethign needs to get banned because it might be used to groom kids then you need to start with that.

Child porn is illegal because it cannot be made without a real child being molested or raped. It's not because it's nasty, it's not because of some unproven hypothetical. It's because it victimizes people. Conversely, something that victimizes only fictional characters is just a waste of time for EVERYONE.

Some of you seem to be talking about "kids on the internet going into 18+ spaces", which is not grooming. Yeah, it's bad, especially if the 18+ space/content was unmarked, but it's usually marked. Kids on the internet lie about their age, because the most that the majority of these sites can do to prevent kids from coming in is to have a "Are you over 18? Check yes or no" banner and banning anyone who's retarded enough to mention being a minor. Is this a larger cultural problem with the internet? Yes, yes it is, but if you want to tackle it by banning things then you need to ball ALL PORN EVER, NOT JUST DRAWINGS AND FANFICTION. You are absolutely naive if you think all or even the majority of 18+ spaces on the internet that kids lie about their age to get involved with center around drawings and writing.
