If there's no blatant social media presence to go off of (or at least, one that hasn't already been taken down), the only thing afterward that could be done would be a thorough examination of any devices he had and the internet activity therein. There are dime a dozen zoomers who've never even heard the term opsec, but the more terminally online among them might be far more wary of what they put out there.

In any case, it's an ongoing investigation; by nature I'd assume they would keep a lot of the shit they find classified until everything dies down. As for what will be deemed suitable for the public to know - it remains to be seen.

Based on this guys profile I totally believe that he had no active (e.g. actually posting stuff) social media tied to his real name e.g. Facebook, Instagram, etc. It’s possible he had “anonymous” accounts on Reddit/Discord or posted on 4chan but this kind of stuff wouldn’t be found until they scoured his computer. People like Elliot Roger who document their mental illness for the world to see are the exception, not the norm. It doesn’t take godlike opsec - just not being a retard and posting your real name/face - for your anonymous accounts to fly under the radar without a more thorough investigation.

Like let’s say this guy DID have a Reddit account. If he wasn’t a retard who posted his name and/or face, how could you possibly get a positive ID without personally having access to the login credentials saved on his computer/phone?

This would be incredibly bad advice. If they ever got to the point of caring about Selective Service registration again, they already have plenty of data to know you exist, and they'll ship you off anyway, after prosecution and then assigning you to the worst shit they can come up with.

I get the motivation, but in a practical sense it's a poor idea.
