Amazing.

And, theres the new texture!... animated frames of the lights flashing could be added pretty easily if needed, but this alone would function great as both a wall texture, and floor texture, I think. Maybe more sparingly since its so dang colorful, but it should work just fine.

Yea, that's sure colorful. But it really drives home the autism feel.
I hope it won't look too busy in game, but it might work as a fun detail.

Would the RIP city cat work as a lost soul sprite? I've never done pixel art so I don't know how tough this would be. My idea is using this as the idle form 1720797482648.png and something similiar to this

for the aggro state.

There's always a time to learn. Find a decent program that has layers and a 1px brush, shrink down your sample images to the size of the base LS sprite, and start by just getting the form and outline done using the samples as a reference (or just tracing over them).

It'll give you a good opportunity to look into how Doom handles its sprites and file formats as well.

Sorry for the break, had stuff to do.
Fixed the lighting, adjusted the textures a bit and fixed some details.

@Dull Pencil I have a few questions before I start rendering all the poses.
Would you like me to make any more adjustments to the images (like upping the brightness and contrast) or the model itself?
Do you want the sprites to be already converted into the Doom palette?

I also didn't model the hands because I was just gonna copy and paste the ones from the Hell Knight sprites + the green flames.
If you'd like me to I can do that for every sprite before sending them. Here's an example of how that would look.

Yea, try to make the contrast higher. Details on the face and legs are mostly gone.

No, that will lose details.

No, you don't have to do that. I will most likely do adjustments that will ruin it anyway.

@Dull Pencil here's the sprites. Upped the contrast and made the face model itself larger to keep more detail.
All images are the same resolution as the original and they have the same names except instead of BOS2 it's GNT2.

Now to find some voice line replacements.

Excellent, that's a very good model. After looking at them it might have been better to rendered them high-res. So if you feel like making more models in the future that's something to keep in mind.
But nice work. 👍

They were rendered in high res, I just shrunk them down and aligned them as best I could with the original sprites to save you the trouble.
I can send the full resolution renders but if you're gonna do any work on them before resizing to fit in Doom I think it'd be easier for me to just add more detail to the model and re-render.
Let me know if it's gonna be too much work and I will try to make a more detailed model.

If you have the high-res I'll take them. I think the model is detailed enough so no worries. You don't need to do any more work.

Getting an error when I try to upload the zip directly so I'm putting it on catbox.

Just FYI I messed up the pose from a few angles so I had to do some erasing and stamp tooling with the arms and legs for the downsized versions and there's a few texture mistakes I had to correct as well.

Just noticed that you named the sprites too. That's very helpful.

Version 1 of Hell Gunt. Any thoughts?
Looks top-notch.
Regarding the sound effects, the Hell Knight only has 4 of them and I believe some are shared with other monsters.
If it's possible, should I look into implementing additional variations of enemy sound effects that would be unique to one demon? Or would that be beyond the scope of this project?

I envy your talent to do this. Best I could do is normie moding.
So I'll contribute idea's like having You know who as a Boss

Well, interest goes a long way when it comes to doing creative shit and if you think of anything you know how to do that can add to this, then all you need is some motivation.

Adding a boss though, is something of the most extreme you can do. There's tons of shit I want to add already, but making a boss is like a full time job. Unless you have an absolutely perfect 3d model that require almost no post work, you would need lots of spriters to make this even considerable. We are talking about 70-80 sprites and hundreds of hours.

That would be great. Yea, most monsters share sounds which makes them a bit boring. This does not matter though if you mod for ZDoom and it's up to whoever does a project to decide which assets to use. So if you want, go ahead. 👍

Also, made it short sleeved.
