After reading all these Trump quotes, what if after this near death experience, he changes his goals and genuinely tries to unite the country, bring things back to moderation and chill everyone tf out?

everyone keeps saying this, but by even the most charitable standards, I would say those attempts have been pretty lazy and definitely at odds with a lot of behavior.

Well, see, this is the problem that no one really talks about when they use empty platitudes like 'unity' and 'healing'. There can be no unity with these people. These people want to mutilate your children. They want you broke and destitute while they send your jobs overseas for profit, or get in migrant workers to do them for a fraction of the cost. They don't believe you have the right to speak, they don't believe you should have freedom of movement or freedom of association. They squawk endlessly about bodily autonomy with 'my body, my choice' but don't think you should have that right when it comes to taking an experimental treatment with probably one of the worst safety profiles of any mass administered treatment ever. They think it's perfectly all right for criminals to just rob you and kill you, and they will empty the prisons so they can get back on the streets and keep doing it.

What possible middle ground is there to find with people like these? There is none. Even the participants of the American Civil War disagreed on less than modern Americans do now.

Left-wing Americans don't want unity, they want submission. It's our responsibility not to give it to them

Another random thought, but I doubt the Deep State would be dumb enough to even attempt a Trump assassination because him being alive is the only thing keeping America from falling into a bloody civil war. Anyone with more than two functioning brain cells understands that Trump is an outlet for millions of angry Americans that, despite losing nearly everything, still have hope. But a man who loses all hope, loses all fear. Is that to say it's impossible that "greater forces" didn't try? I do think there’s a lot of left leaning people who just want things to be normal but they’re too dumb or NPC to realize it’s their own politics making everything miserable. They’re not the insane tranny lovers, they just do what they’re told because they are stupid enough to fall for the “Be Kind” line.

I long for the 90s version of politics where you could hate how your republican neighbor voted but you didn’t wish death upon him and got into heated but ultimately toothless arguments with him at a summer bbq. Sigh.

Why do y'all keep going straight to the troons instead of the more likely target of unity: people who don't like Trump or are in different parties. Normies exist. They're the majority. It's a bit delusional (and I'm not saying you're doing this) to think that everyone who doesn't like Trump must be a troon or sexual deviant.

Also Biden made an instagram post saying Trump wants to be a dictator before the shooting. Couldn’t that in itself along with the other stuff motivated the shooter to take action:

What's Trump gonna do about people not liking him?

This is a very important lesson to learn in life: sometimes people will not like you. There's nothing you can do to change that. But if you compromise who you are to please other people, you run the risk of you not liking yourself. That to me is much worse than other people not liking you.
