Family fights are always the most bitter ones. We're also talking about people who have never actually been through the horrors of civil war or (for the most part) any war. People are talking tough and turning up the hyperbole about things they know nothing about.Something I've learned in the last 24 hours is that Americans are more willing to kill other Americans than they are to kill Russian/Chinese/Iranian soldiers. It's weird because even though Dems/Reps are different, Americans with different political ideologies still have a lot more in common with each other than these three rival nations.
It's all relative. For example, politics were very contentious in America during the '60s. There were crazy riots and shootings and protests and real unrest. If you talk to people who lived through it, nobody really knew what was going to happen. There was a feeling of potential revolution in the air. Things got pretty polarized during the GW Bush presidency, too. The "War on Terror" created and absolutist us vs. them atmosphere. The GW Bush regime was arrogant and hostile towards anyone who didn't share their vision. This thread is making me genuinely depressed when I read the twitter posts and general opinion of random nobodies posted. The Irreparable differences between "right" and "left" (us vs them) and genuine inability to separate politics from common life seems to be more extreme everyday. It feels like there the only final solution is complete civil war between the two parties. Democrats seem to have grasped that this almost sparked said event today with Biden immediately doing damage control and stating we should "come together" and "tone down the rhetoric used".
Am I wrong in feeling this way? Was politics always like this before 2016? Any thoughts regarding would be appreciated.
Sums it up nicely. There is this weird idea that there is going to be some kind of massive throw down in the streets. Jusy like the rittenhouse shooting though beyond a small criminal element most are gonna be like that guy in the backround caught getting head on video.Remember how the riots stopped after the Rittenhouse shooting?
Yeah. That. That's exactly what will happen as you're not dealing with creatures of conviction, but particularly stupid sheep.
I was really hoping that the changes Dear Feeder made to the reaction score would disincentivise people from rushing to post the newest "info" (I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who saw this screenshot in a Discord) or some meme that even a cursory read along the highlights would show has already been posted.People aren't even using the highlight feature anymore.
I've seen the Blackrock commercial posted at least 7 times, and now the synagogue pictures of a totally different person at least 5 times. Some duplicate posts have been highlighted 3-4 times.
I forget where I heard it but I'll never forget the story of a guy covering some war in the Middle East, two or so city blocks from the fighting, and people are just in a restaurant having lunch while bombs go off. But, you also have to remember that the internet is not real life. Social media is not real life. If you log off and talk to most regular people out there, they aren't nearly crazy as most people who are posting on the internet.
There were quite a few different reactions behind him. Some more in shock/confused, some immediately ducking for cover, some enthralled/video taping like her. I think her reaction isn't what's weird here, it's that her video has not made it to the public yet still.
I could see it taking time to source her and asking to release the information, she must’ve experience a freeze response to the panic which is perfectly natural. I’ve only seen 2-3 different perspectives of the rooftop shooter so this stuff is coming out slow unless if witnesses volunteer it.There were quite a few different reactions behind him. It’s sad when all 3 of those are equally likely to happen in conjunction.Besides another attempt, what could happen between now and Nov to top this?
- UFO disclosure (The big one)
- Pandemic 2
- Stock market collapse
This is some of the funniest shit ricky has made
I kind of follow the Sam Hyde perspective on riots and these demonstrations. They are celebrations by the left that they can destroy your cities and ruin your life without consequences. Bringing a gun to that and pretending you can fix things, just ruins the vibe and is asking for trouble.Reminder that Rittenhouse both logically and legally did nothing wrong
