What would a Second American Civil war look like.

After seeing some vitriol in the destiny thread and noticing the sheer bloodlust on the left I wonder what would a second civil war look like.

Would it be something like the Troubles and car bombs and retaliatory violence?

Would it be like the years of lead where the factions get out of hand?

Would it be like the Spanish civil war or English civil war where one is forced to choose one side or the other?

Or would it be a new Yugoslav wars, I am not trying to doom post but more or less get people's general idea's.

For a more serious answer, I've started reading Days of Rage by Bryan Burrough, which discusses the bombing incidents that happened throughout the 1970s. Those bombings were targeted at infrastructure, not to kill, but I think it's safe to say a second Civil War would not have that same intent.

There are more guns than people in the US. Add to that the sheer landmass and interconnected nature of the Highway system, you couldn't compare a second US civil war to anything that's been seen before.
Though generally, I'd say the weapons and tactical advantage go to the side full of people that can keep a 50+ year old truck running on spit and bacon grease.

Many people have said it'll resemble the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and I tend to agree.
Basically, the vast majority of the population tries to live normal lives while a small group of radicals commit terrorist attacks against either the public or each other, and the military will probably be forced to occupy certain cities that are hotspots for violence. There might be stories of state and federal governments colluding with groups that push their agenda. An angry mob going around looting and rioting like in 2020 will be just a regular occurrence and of course, ungodly levels of corruption.
I can't say when it'll begin exactly but obviously, the 2024 election would be the most likely factor. If Trump wins the conflict might begin immediately after that. If Biden wins, it might take a few months but they'll probably pass retarded policies that'll cause certain red states to rebel.

Imagine the absolute quantity of paramilitary groups that'll appear along every political and ethnic line. Alongside the general left-right conflict there'll probably be some smaller scale conflicts opening up between like Ethiopians and Somalians in LA or something. Oh yeah and don't forget an American conflict with inevitably cause an economic downturn and destabilize other Western countries as well.

-Schools take kids on field trips to show what life was like in the "before time" and show off the wonder and mystery on what an "apartment" was

120 days after war declared:
-Giant moat dug on mexican border, lined with fully automatic machine gun drone patrols

-ICE is now funded with trillions of dollars (since we can pay it since, no more welfare for pink hairs) and systematically remove brown people

50 years after war declared:

The American Civil War, with its big armies of volunteers and draftees fighting other, similar armies and trying not to hurt civilians overmuch was mostly a war of reconquest against a breakaway state. It was only a true civil war in a few places like Kansas, where it was every bit the awful messy house to house murderfest that most civil wars are.

The biggest threat would be Mexican Gang members as they send their own into the military (Marines) for training which they then train their own in said tactics. Good thing a lot already have dealings with AB or Fam to look after their own and could easily be turned into a asset within Sanctuary Cities in exchange for water/food and using Christianity as a unifying factor to target those we can't name and demons like pic above hypothetically.
The biggest pain in the ass outside Sanctuary cities would be lone gunmen or small packs of Ex Military raiding commies who would also easily be dealt with in time because their own lifestyle choices make them stand out vividly.
Hate to break it to you but if you live in these cities you get to experience the worst of it and will have no choice but to fight or die of starvation.
Much like the Spanish civil war the commies will lose regardless of numbers because most of them are useless. They have only gotten away with bullshit over the years because the state has been protecting them and that will no longer be a factor in civil unrest and some would hypothetically see that as open hunting season and a opportunity for comeuppance.

there will be no major political upheaval until people are starving to death, and even then its a maybe. there is no group of people in history with so much capacity to alter their state of mind as the average american, and its only getting easier to acquire stuff that will disconnet you from reality. it would not surprise me to learn that the government is distributing drugs nationwide purely to pacify people rather than to fund some shady scheme at this point.

if something does happen i imagine it will be more like the romans than anyone else, just a gradual weakening of state power beyond the city walls and those with the means and mind enforcing their own order in their immediate vicinity and the state being powerless to stop it. so in the states i would imagine that playing out as the government gradually decreasing its enforcement presence outside of the highway belts, ney york, la, chicago, and nuclear power plants, until anything beyond the interstate gas stations is a no mans land. that is pretty much already the case economically. most towns not on the interstate system that arent lucky enough to be turist destinations are pretty much dead economically and demographically.
