Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

Holy fuck, they said it out loud but they still don't get it.
Most people are *already* technically in a 15 minute city. You could get your groceries/whatever. But those demonic capitalist principles (that they claim are nonsense but are still affected by anyway) keep getting in the way.
I have a grocery store within walking distance. But I drive anyways. The reason? Am I a stinky fucking car brain who can't follow common sense? No, it's because they built a rehab center by my place, and if you do try to walk there, you will literally get accosted by some drug addict. I have had to tell these people to fuck off and stop following me. Plus, the grocery store that is farther away just has better quality food for a cheaper price.
Again, the main things that kill these communal places they love so much is a below zero sense of societal policing and responsibility. Especially in commiefornia. The cops don't even show up when you call them anymore.

Remember how they like to claim that suburbanites are 20 minutes away from the closest store? Turns out that's projection:

>Suburbs
>20 minutes to the store

Pick one, it can't be both. I don't know what definitions y'all operate under but to me if the nearest grocery store is 20 minutes from town that is rural, not suburbs. The only time I've found myself driving 20 minutes to get groceries is when I'm up in the iron range, which is about as rural as it gets.

Also biking 9 miles multiple times a month for groceries is such a cope lol.

"I oppose violence and incivility, except I'm a hypocrite and actually don't"

What people like this miss is that there is someone out there who will use this justification when doing the same actions to you. Everyone is the protagonist of their own story and believes their actions justify the ends. Someone could say "I killed this urbanist, but I am justified as he threatened my way of life". That doesn't make it true, but it goes to show how stupid that argument is.

"Dangerously hot" is apparently the mid-80s.
I'm starting to think everything this guy says is horseshit tbh. I don't think he uses the cargo bike 90%+ of the time if this is what's causing him to give up so easily. How are people supposed to believe the bike electric motorcycle is viable for anything if this is what's causing him to give up. Again saying from before if you're going to start a social movement at least put a little more sacrifice into it.

Old people here tend to recreative bicycle for several miles in same or hotter weather. Heck we even have here all over the Netherlands something called fietsvierdaagse. it's a 4 day cycling event ranging from 15 to even 70 km a day. Surprisingly has a lot of old people doing them. For the most part this events are done without e-bikes. Although some cities and towns allow e-bike's. I have seen old people do this events while it was at 32 Celsius /91 Fahrenheit and last year in even hotter weather.

And if anyone here been to Vietnam which is a moped and bicycle country. Take a trip down there via their main highway, You'll see plenty of old and young bicycling in some parts of the route with fuck load of cargo going from one city to another. And the weather there is terrible. It's literally like you're in a sauna wearing your winter clothes.

And this fucking faggot is complaining he can't bike on a e-bike, probably a short route because it's 30 Celsius.

87° is comfy weather and 90 year olds in Scottsdale bike when it’s 100° out. What a pussy.
As an honorable Florida man (in terms of weather and lattiude in the US). The only time you should get that excuse is if it's in the 90°+, full sun and 100% humidity. That is full swamp ass. Even then you can do outside work, bring lots of water and pace yourself.

You aren't legally allowed to work in those temperatures. This is the OSHA heat schedule.

I cycle to work for the occasional meeting, which is about 9 km (5.5 miles), and today it was over 30°C (87°F or whatever it is in gobbledigook units). It's mostly unpleasant because I sweat easily as soon as move, but generally not that bad. Doing that in 100°F is gonna be annoying tho.
I should use my race bike then, because now I use a fixed gear so while it is nice and efficient, it also takes effort to brake.

Laughs in small agriculture farm exemption (It gets abused a lot) and illegals not giving a shit but I digress. That's a recommendation. Not a rule.
They don't go off that. It's based off WGBT sensors and some calculation I keep forgetting. I haven't ever seen one of these unless it's a large company, union, or full of Americans.

Almost half of farm labor heat fatalities are of "unknown" nationality (illegal).

It's only ever used in large industrial installations and federal facilities, since they are the only ones with the budgets to ignore the time lost and their concern is insurance premiums over effort.

There's a more modern one that I can't find that also takes humidity in as well, which looks pretty similar but worse.

But guys...
I'd really like for Jason to go to Singapore to avoid the "Japan cool" meme. Everywhere is walkable if you live in a cramped hellhole of a megacity.
Buy guuuys I can totally walk there! Why are places like this closing? Real life is like my game of urban planning where if people can walk somewhere, they do the stuff that I put in front of them! It just so obvious!
