I wonder if clown world is cyclical? Like history could be cyclical. Did the 70s seem like clown world to sane people at the time?

Or is the arc of the universe long, but it bends toward clownery?

As far as picks go, JD Vance is not that bad. He could have picked neocon Tim Scott. Or Rubio. He could have picked Bill Gates' bestie Doug Burgum.

I think, with Vance, the warhawks would much rather Trump stay alive.

He went from picking a guy who was there for mass appeal, especially for evangelicals, to a guy who he joked was a suck-up at a campaign rally. Seems like loyalty above all else is what Trump sees in Vance.

If you believe Vance is legit about what he says it's a pretty good way to keep Trump's political beliefs goals and stances in tact should he get assassinated. If you are more skeptical about Vance it's just an interesting decision for sure, that much can be said.
