GFM does not check for veracity, he brought up doing doing a GFM when Destiny was on the show a few days ago and erroneously stated they check for the legitimacy of things such as medical expenses, and Destiny instantly said they in fact don't check to confirm any of it.

Yes, that's the thing that's been bothering me the entire time. If you had secondary polycythemia, you would have very high erythropoetin levels and as a result your body would produce more RBC. In a cancer state like polycythemia vera, your cells act independently of hormones or other cell regulators so your bone marrow would be cranking out RBC regardless of EPO levels.
