What happened with DeSantis? I heard he was running against Trump in the primaries and I was so disappointed that I left watching politics for a bit (also real life happened).

I remember him going to a fundraiser in Utah thereabouts. Why did he actually run?

trump survived by less than an inch, his life was quite literally saved by statistical variance and the fact that he moved. How would that be staged? The answer is that it couldn't be and you're just coping with the fact that you're living in a chaotic world by making up conspiracies that dont stand basic scrutiny.

I think he thought he saw a potential opening with Trump caught up in his legal issues and went for it but as we all know it the whole thing was a waste of time.

His wife got cancer and TPTB offered to cure it if he ran agaisnt Trump. It's never been outright said by any of them but I think she got the treatment and they buried the hatchet. Desantis is taking his licks for it with no path forward as he is term limited out.
