They would have the largest eye-to-skull size ratio of any animal on the planet if they were real. Their eyes would be extremely susceptible to damage, not just from physical injury, but from exposure to ultraviolet radiation as well. Over the course of a year (if that), they would succumb to extinction as their giant squid-esque eyeballs sizzled into a frothy white goo in their sockets, rendering their species helpless against the ecological stressors of infection, starvation, predation, and roadside mortality.

"Perfect" is not the word I'd use to describe their proportions.
