It's a GUNDAAAAAAAAM. Your general Gundam natter thread!

So am I. Suletta becoming the new mascot of Gundam would have been the smartest business decision since a woman will never get caught as a sexual abuser, they can get moe anime fans to watch Gundam, and they can pretend to be progressive. However, the UC is the most established timeline, so they can't really blacklist the UC (but they could do that weird early development thing where G-Witch is connected to IBO and build a new universe from that -- an absolutely horrifying thought). I wish they made Hathaway or Uso the new face of UC; we don't need to continue harping on Unicorn when there are better post-CCA stories and characters to use.

Bro we dont need Amuro, they can just do Reborns from 00 as the new voice:tomgirl:

They can't do Hathaway because unless they change things he's not going to make it past his movies and they can't use Uso because it's too early. They are on the next 100 UC plan where they milk everything up until victory

just scrap the plans of Unicorn 3 The Final Invoking Beyond The Time for a hot minute to drag shit out until things become unprofitable

Surprised they've dragged their feet so long on Unicorn 2. But it seems like every previously announced UC project is taking a hot minute.

2nicorn and Hathaway 2: Flash Harder will be out when they're out. Gundam has no set schedule.

If we get any sort of animated project from sentinel or advance of zeta I will record myself doing a flip. that will be the point of no return.

Sentinel has some weird rights shenanigans going on involving the actual characters. Its fine to use the MS and whatnot, but Ryu Roots and the cast are always blacked out or just missing from games that use Sentinel's plot.

AoZ has been pretty popular in recent years though. That'd be nice. Total pipe dream, but nice.

Which one has more chance to be animated: Crossbone or AoZ?

I'm not sure but I think they'd have to write hasegawa a check for Crossbone because it was from before modern contracts where lol fuck you we own everything, so AoZ, but they file off the Fellowship Down because legal issues and Japan is a bunch of pussies who would never make the end of Project A-ko ever again

I'd wager Crossbone. I remember being pretty excited to even see the Crossbone Maoh in Build Fighters. And beyond excited to see the Full Cloth proper show up in Try. I could at least see it getting a showcase in UC Engage or something, like Moon Gundam. Maybe it'll be a part of the next phase of UC NeXT 100 or whatever. Not until after all the other announced shit though. Plus there's a pretty good chance of a proper 00 sequel in a couple years too, if Mizushima gets his way.

Crossbone Gundam X1 is in the global UC Engage as of the latest update today.

IBO is good, not my cup of tea but i can respect it as a gundam serie. Thing is that i was more interested in the lore about the whole line of gundams(i call them the 72 gundams of solomon) that fought in the war in the past. Would be cool to see barbatos, Bael, Kimaris, Astaroth and all the others back in the day and presumely in their prime.

I would hope Amon has some manner of Devilman look, like the headwings

Man, discussing Gundam canon is too tiresome, people are saying right now that the gundam the origin ovas and CDI are canon to the rest of UC when all events sre different and they make it quite clear

afaik Gundam is usually very fuzzy about canon/not-canon, aside from very obvious detours like the ending of the Zeta movies

it seems like "it's canon unless it argues with the current thing, then in that case the new thing is right, so shut up and watch the robots hit each other while queers argue about philosophy over the emergency comm channels"

Except it isn't.

Gundam has a tendency of respect the older rather than changing the old (even more when it was made by a different crew)

One example is how the original series and the films are both canonical, mixing elements of both series in the overall ''canon''.

The only example that would show otherwise is the gundam seed TV series, that before destiny came out, they changed some stuff in the film version and later introduced these changes in the hd remaster, the same with destiny.

Even the drama cds written by chiaki morosawa are somewhat acknowleged by freedom depending of the character (athrun and shinn rivalry)

One of the biggest reason to not reboot mobile suit gundam is that the staff from back then are still alive and to do a series again without then would be seen as bad.

Gundam canon is overexplained later, but never changed to what was on the screen. One example is that they said years later that F91 Gundam had a pychoframe, but not changing the peeling effect that it had already into psychoframe, but adding to it.
