tl;dr: Cody isn't beating the allegations that he's a kiddie entertainment fanboy, This post is generally innocuous, though, and yet another sign if he stopped being such a Death Battle-styled "X is better than Y" manchild, he'd at least learn to maintain attention while providing his thoughts. Being inspired by a fellow American to create his own literary works is a rather humbling thought, and it's respectable to form a "Then I can do it too!" attitude about it as a response. Heck, when Cody's brain is just on Harry Potter, he manages to sound like something other than Seth Brundle's fusion of a giant thumb and a white raisin. As he is honestly derivative, it can even be said that one of his Codyverse characters claims her name from Princess Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron, and his fascination with the Legend of Zelda comes from any similarities to this movie and novel series.

Introduce the Balldo. The rise and (continuing) fall of this lawyer must've hit Cody like a truck, him being Cody's philisophical 9/11, such that he alone ruined Libertarianism for our young Nintendo fan, and that if he is to be represented in a fictional format, that the associated character named the "American Evil".

Funny how this was found around the same time as Cody shitting on Metroid fans, as his most recent post there is just him shitting on people who like Metroid Prime, while both on Twitter and Youtube he's trying to insult Prime fans and anyone who liked AM2R, claiming that Federation Force is better.

TBC: How is Metroid coming along?

Tanabe: Trying to get me to reveal something, are you? *Laughs* Metroid is fine. Did you play Federation Force?

TBC: Oh yeah, I love Federation Force.

Tanabe: Most real fans did. Well Federation Force was the most excited I’ve been to work on Metroid since the series began. It reminded me a lot of how I felt when working on Sticker Star. And how everything was beginning to ‘click.’ That’s all I can say about upcoming Metroid games.

TBC: Did the fan reaction to Federation Force discourage you?

Tanabe: As I said, real fans bought and played the game. Those who believe that Metroid is meant to be a dark, brooding story driven game don’t understand the core appeal of the series.

TBC: Was that a jab at Sakamoto?

Tanabe: That’s actually Sakamoto-san’s stance on the matter.

TBC: Really? But he made Other M?

Tanabe: Why do you think he hates stories in games? *Laughs* Other M was actually a very educational experience for us at Nintendo. Story driven games are not games. Sakamoto-san found himself creatively limited by the constraints he had set for himself in his outline for the story, and in trying to make everything fit he failed to make a compelling game.

TBC: He didn’t put the gameplay first.

Tanabe: Exactly. That is not a mistake that Nintendo is ever going to make again.

TBC: Newer Nintendo games like ARMS and Splatoon tend to drip feed the lore and information about the setting…

Tanabe: Yes, indeed. For games it’s better to make the game first and create an excuse for it to happen afterward.

TBC: The opposite of what Naughty Dog does then.

Tanabe: Exactly! *Laughs*

TBC: So can you give us any more information on why Metroid Prime 4 was delayed?

Tanabe: Oh, it never actually entered production. We just announced it to get people to stop asking where Metroid was. It didn’t actually begin production until we announced the delay.

TBC: You found to be a necessary step?

Tanabe: Absolutely. A lot of these manchildren Nintendo fans- these twenty, thirty year old unmarried types- they have masculinity issues. They tend to be unemployed, live with their parents, live off of government assistance and have crippling social disorders. To them playing cool games aimed at ‘adults’ is the closest thing they can get to having a happy or successful life. A lot of these people see ‘hardcore’ franchises as a way to prove their masculinity. Metroid is one of the most common fixations of these people, due to featuring an attractive female protagonist in a bleak, desolate setting.

TBC: My readers aren’t going to like this.

Tanabe: Hey, I said it, not you. *laughs* My advice to these people is to take a shower and get a job. You don’t need a new Metroid game. You need to get a life.

TBC: That’s harsh.

Tanabe: Not harsh enough!

As I am currently awaiting the release of The Last of Us Part II, I decided it would be best for me to go back and experience some of the older zombie games that I have not played in years. The original TLOU is an absolute classic and one of the best games ever made, but I truly cannot stress just how important Resident Evil is to me as a feminist and a writer.

The end of the Nintendo domination over the gaming industry was a golden age of creativity in gaming. For the first time developers were free to challenge the established patriarchal concepts introduced (And to this day suppported) by the former gaming giant. Games like Final Fantasy VII challenged the idea of women being nothing more than damsels to be rescued, while games like Metal Gear Solid emphasized strong, intelligent female characters in the lore of the story and world.

However, in my mind, Resident Evil is the first TRULY feminist video game franchise. For the first time ever, you could choose between a male and a female character. And for the first time EVER, the female character had clear advantages over the male one. Now, she wasn’t ever BETTER, per se, but it was so mind blowing to me how Capcom put so much time and effort into making such compelling female characters.

And then Resident Evil 4 ruined everything.

This is the first time I’ve played RE4 in years. I was one of those people that disliked the game from the onset, due to being developed for a purple lunchbox rather than a real video game console. The game had clearly been extremely casualized to appeal to fans of games like Wind Waker and Pikmin. It was more action oriented than previous entries, with little in the way of puzzles and the subtle, creative horrors that the original three games produced. And worst of all, the female lead, Ashley, was relegated to that despised damsel in distress role. How the mighty have fallen.

However returning to Resident Evil 4 after over fifteen years has given me a new perspective. A new, disgusting angle that my naive younger self did not catch up on.

Resident Evil 4 HATES Mexicans.

The plot of Resident Evil 4 is as follows. Leon S.Kennedy, the ambigously gay, emo haired protagonist is sent on a rescue mission to Mexico to recover the daughter of the President of the United States. Now this is a relatively simple, less complex plot compared to past entries, possibly to appeal to Nintendo fans and their childish tastes… but it has a theme to it.

TOXIC, EVIL FOREIGNERS ARE OUT TO GET THE PRESIDENT AND HIS FAMILY.

That’s it. That’s the plot, summed up in a single sentence. And in an age where immigrants are being attacked and hated by the current administration it TRULY gives me pause. Resident Evil 5 was condemned for being racist (And rightfully so) but I believe the trend started in Resident Evil 4. Seeing the blonde, handsome American gun down unarmed brown skinned Mexicans sends a shiver down my spine. THIS is the media I grew up with? Is this the world we fantasize about living in?

One of the game’s most famous scenes involves Leon, Ashley, and another man hiding out in a cabin while wave after wave of Mexicans break in and attack. The only way to defend yourself from this onslaught is to invoke your second amendment rights and shoot them dead. The only thing that is protecting you from the illegals? WALLS and GUNS.

Disgusting. We know very little about Ashley and her Father’s politics, but she’s clearly a Republican, going by her shitty attitude and outfit. What the goals of the Mexicans? Why are they rebelling against the President? Could their goals possibly be noble? I find it difficult to believe that a group of people who refuse to use guns could be all that bad. They take care of their animals and seem to live in harmony with nature… rather different than American societies.

Maybe humanity is the real virus.

Recently Capcom has released a statement that Monster Hunter World has become their best selling title ever at 7.5 million units sold. We here at TheHeroes7 were surprised, to say the least. Monster Hunter has always been a niche franchise in the West. To see it become such a huge overnight success made us all very happy.

However, following a little research, it has quickly become clear that, despite Capcom’s claims, Monster Hunter World has performed far below expectations. It has indeed ‘sold’ 7.5 million units… but almost half of that was due to Capcom employees around the world buying the game themselves and handing them to friends and relatives as gifts. A vast majority of those, according to a leaked internal document at Capcom, have never even been unwrapped.

The metrics for the game are rather poor. Those who did play the game dropped it rather quickly, citing how it didn’t play enough like Destiny or Call of Duty to justify continuing. The decision has strongly influenced Capcom’s creative team to commit to an even more radical departure from the formula for the follow up, Monster Hunter: World War. Hopefully western audiences react more favorably to this new PS4 exclusive than they did the stale Monster Hunter formula!

Following the March 8th Nintendo Direct, many Nintendo fans were surprised by the sheer number of Nintendo 3DS titles that were unveiled. It has been commonly assumed among fans that Nintendo Switch would be Nintendo’s focus going forward, and that the 3DS would slowly be phased out. Following the Direct, however, Kimishima released a statement shedding light on Nintendo’s development plans for 3DS and Switch.

“We have no further plans for Nintendo Switch.” Kimishima announced following the Direct.

The news came as a bit of a shock to Nintendo fans around the world, but Kimishima quickly clarified his point.

“The Nintendo Switch is not a new Nintendo platform.” He said. “It is a Wii U gamepad redesigned to be easier to carry around with you. Our new home console, the Nintendo NS, will be announced next year.”

This was why, Kimishima claims, there have been so many Wii U ports on the console. The primary purpose of the Nintendo Switch was to get Nintendo Wii U games to sell millions more than they would have on the original hardware. It was never meant to be the next big thing from Nintendo. It was merely meant to help make the Wii U a true success story before Nintendo moved on to its next big release.

But how does this relate to the 3DS’s continued support?

“The 3DS will not just be supported for this year, or the next year, or the year after that.” Kimishima said. “We will continue to put new games on 3DS for the next five years. Please look forward to those announcements in the near future.”

Upon hearing this news YouTuber Josh Thomas hung himself on camera, clutching a Tom Nook doll and crying about Chibi-Robo.

One question has plagued the Monster Hunter fanbase ever since the reveal of Monster Hunter World.

“Why?”

Nintendo fans have been crying. Fans of other platforms have been cheering. But now we here at Unseen64 (Liam Robertson video game historian) have a complete understanding of the history behind Nintendo’s relationship with Monster Hunter.

”They raped us.” The female Capcom employee told us, in a small voice. “They raped us.”

In 2009 Monster Hunter fans were shocked and outaged to hear that the series, which had previously found great success on Sony’s PlayStation Portable, had suddenly switched platforms mid development. Instead of the HD Monster Hunter fans had been clamoring for, what they got was a watered down version of what they had gotten on other platforms.

“It was awful.” Our source babbles to us, completely distraught. “Nintendo tricked management into signing a years long exclusivity contract. Every week, a man in a Mario Hat and mustache would come in to check on us.”

Nintendo, it would seem, had an iron grip on Monster Hunter Tri’s development. “Every time we would come up with a cool new design or gameplay feature, Nintendo would stop us. ‘Isn’t that too expensive?’ they would say, and then promptly stomp all over it.”

The Mario Man, as he was soon to be known, became a sort of boogeyman. “He was not a game developer.” The source confides in us, tearing up a little. It was a Plumber. Nintendo hired him to deal with third party exclusives for one reason and one reason only. To show us that they thought we were shit.”

In this dystopian, controlling environment the Monster Hunter team had difficulties getting any new ideas off the ground. Adding any new features or even monsters to the game was a massive hurdle.

“To Nintendo, making new games is an alien, scary concept.” The source told us. “They have been remaking the exact same game for thirty years, for all of their franchises. They have no originality, no creativity, no passion.”

In order to add anything new to Monster Hunter in the Nintendo exclusive days, the team had to come up with ways to associate it with Mario.

“What we did when it came to Monster Hunter 4 was describe the climbing mechanic as being similar to Mario jumping on enemies. It was greenlit almost immediately.”

It was clear to everyone at Capcom that the company desperately needed to get out of this relationship. It was destroying the team and company.

“It was the relationship with Nintendo that was the root cause of all of Capcom’s problems.” The source told us. “Games like DmC, the Lost Planet games, Dead Rising, and Resident Evil so declining sales and performance because of Nintendo’s interference with our business. That trend continues to this day, with the releases of Street Fighter V and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. Nintendo destroyed our reputation and business.”

But just when all hope was lost… Sony came.

“Sony saved this company.” The source confides in us, blushing furiously. “It was them that made Monster Hunter World possible.”

The Monster Hunter team had been wanting to make World for over a decade. The transition into making an HD, open world game would have been impossible under Nintendo’s iron fist.

But now that the team is free, Monster Hunter, and other IPs, are free as well.

I think it’s time we Nintendo fans took a stand.

The trend for multiplat third party games to skip Nintendo hardware, often for no real reason, is quickly spiraling out of control. It came to me earlier today as I watched the leaked Monster Hunter World demonstration that there was no real reason for Capcom to not develop for Switch. The game is not all that intensive or graphically demanding, and it would be a simple task to put it on Switch, to placate existing fans, while still going multiplatform.

But Capcom did not do that. Instead they laughed in our face and told us to buy a real console.

You know what? I’m not going to do that. Instead I’m going to stick with my Switch. I’m going to stick with the amazing games that are already out for the system, and the ones that are on the way. I have no NEED or desire to play Monster Hunter World on my Xbox One. I could, certainly, but I would have to install the game into my hard drive because Xbox One is the worst console ever made. Remember when you could pop in a game and just play it? Switch can do that. Talk about an innovation!

Capcom saw how Monster Hunter became one of the best selling third party IPs on Nintendo consoles, and chose to abandon us for no real reason. They are delusional if they think Xbox players are into this kind of thing. They aren’t. I’m told Final Fantasy XV hasn’t sold a million units on Xbox yet. Surely Monster Hunter won’t do better on these platforms than they would have on Nintendo consoles. Consoles that this series has done very well on in the past.

We Nintendo fans need to demand true multiplat experiences. If a multiplat game is NOT being released on our platform of choice, we will not buy it. Instead we will demand a proper, complete release on our platform. Otherwise it will not earn out support.

It is amazing how in spite of the Switch’s incredible success, not a single third party came forward and made an exciting new announcement for Switch. These people are downright out of touch with what people want, and it’s time we showed them that.

I will never again buy a fake multiplat game new. I will buy it used for twenty dollars or less, if I truly want to play it. Otherwise, I will not even consider it.

I insist that every Switch fan out there follow my example. Show the devs that you aren’t interested in supporting Playstation or Xbox. Show them that they should #MaketheSwitch

In here, Cody displays that he values characters and works solely based on face value feats and power levels.
What exactly is the story behind Cody's Harry Potter fanboyism, other than the fact he seems to gravitate toward his childhood obsessions? Is the superiority of Harry Potter over Lord of the Rings so important to him because both were big in the early 2000s and he fanboyed HP first so LOTR became like Microsoft is to him (or Chris-chan for that matter since he thinks similarly)?

It's ironic a right-winger like him stuck by Harry Potter for so long given that Harry Potter was the go-to progressive leftist book for much of the 2010s.

I'd love to know more about his anti-Tolkien stance. I can tell any essay he's done on it will make Michael Moorcock's or George RR Martin's critiques of Tolkien look like the most brilliant takedowns in the history of literary criticism.

Did You Know Gaming Seethes over Luigi's Mansion 2 Being More Popular then Metroid Prime 4

And here we go again with more false information, and how Harman who claims to be an "Nintendo fan", is probably the most self hating Nintendo fan you will ever see.
He is once again looking at a tweet from DYKG.
Where it shows a chart about, LM2 selling better then the Prime Trilogy, with this caption. "Seeing this chart in an old video, it just occurred to me that Luigi's Mansion 2 HD has a good chance of outselling Metroid Prime 4. God help us.
GSHnQwuaUAM1AXA.jpg

Now a sensible person would look at this and go, yeah it is pretty sad that a HD remaster of an 11 year old game, will probably sell more then a brand new game in a series. But oh you guessed it not our Harman. He resorts to calling them idiots, because of course the Mario game will be better selling then the "Niche" Metroid game. Yet he isn't paying attention to the fact this is about the remaster not the original.
Also he goes on a rant and rave once again, claiming that Metroid Prime 4 has "much going against it." Such as long development time, and little knowledge. Yet that is pretty damn ironic since Zelda BOTW also took around 6 years to make after SS and this doesn't seem to have go against it. (Then again Harman also frantically defends SS like it is the second coming of christ, so no shocks there). What is also funny about all of this is in the video shown in Cairo's post, he was going on about how MP4 looked interesting and unique and all his usual bs.

He also once again is shown to defend the bad Metroid games, like Federation Force, claiming that he was more excited for that game, on it's inital reveal over MP4's one. Yet if you look at the reveals back to back, it is literal night and day, one is a continuation of a fantastic trilogy of games, which shows Samus stepping out onto a planet with a massive battle sprawled out in front of her, as she naviagates around the place, scanning dead space pirates, using her morph ball to navigate small vents, before fighting more space pirates, before coming face to face with Sylux and these Metroid like creatures with him.
Whilst FF shows a blocky spaceship going through a bland looking ice world, landing with chibi Master Chief rip offs, fighting some boring looking enemies, and "Bosses", before cutting to show "Blast Ball" a crappy robo suit football game. Wow clearly this is the superior game guys!

He goes on some more boring speel about how "Amazing" LM2 is, despite the fact, it is the worst LM game in the franchise, with awful mission based structured levels, constant nagging from E Gadd, Boring slapstick, from generic looking ghosts, weak combat, janky controls, awful bosses minus the first and last one. But hey it has the darklight, and Luigi is charming in it. Plus the multiplayer, which I played once and never again, (seriously why is their multiplayer in a Luigi's Mansion game?). And I know for a fact, I'm not the only one who thought LM2 was a dissapointment, and didn't live up to the original. As does Harman, because he can't cope with the fact anyone can actually hate LM2 or an Nintendo game, that he personally likes.

Anyway, one big thing to note is he starts going about how Metroid fans, aren't really fans. And how they "Weaponise" Metroid games against other Nintendo IP's. Which is just blantly stupid, first thing, WHY would anyone do that? It is fine to prefer Metroid to another Nintendo series, hell I don't care for Metroid minus the 2D ones, but I don't go moaning about the people who like Prime. Two if it is so "niche" like he claims Metroid to be, why is it still going on? Plus how would you be able to "Weaponise" it, if it was niche most people wouldn't care to know about it. But apprantly that does something to make others hate other Nintendo franchises.
He also mentions that people were "upset" about Retro doing DKCR over Metroid back in the day, and in typical style he shows no proof of this. Now I'm an old man you know going on 34, but what I remember back then, was many people were excited to see what would happen with DKCR. Retro had done wonders for Metroid a series prior to Prime releasing hadn't seen a new game since 1994. Nearly 8 years ago...Wait a minute isn't that how long it has been since the annoucement of Prime 4 and the year of release...hmmm funny that. Anywho, people were excited as Prime had brought back Metroid back into the light, and changed the franchise up for the better in many people's eyes. After all DK's last major outing before Returns was DK64 in 1999. 14 YEARS BEFORE DKCR came out.

He claims "no body cared" about DKCR and it doesn't "Get the respect it deserves" yet he also mentions that it got a sequel game. But people downplayed DKCR and hate on it and blah blah blah. Ok riddle me this Harman, why if DKCR didn't do well, why did they make Tropical Freeze then?

Final point of this video, he also claims that he hates how people bring up sales numbers as they "have never been important." Yet of course how many times have you heard him say about TOTK 20 million copies sold, or Animal Crossing NH 48 million copies sold. Funny that when someone is simply saying how sad it is, that a remaster will outsell a new game. All of a sudden we shouldn't say sales are important. Christ this man is so backwards assed, I'm surprised he can even get out of bed in the morning.

He hates on Metroid fans, who don't just suck off every Nintendo made Metroid game, hating on people who prefer AM2R more (despite the fact it was a better remake then Samus Returns). He frantically defends Other M, the game that set the Metroid series back 6 years only to come back with the garbage dump that was Federation Force. And once again, moans about people who want "Mature themes" in their video games, yet constantly fabs over Bayonetta, No More Heroes and Killer 7. Even going so far as to name himself on a Killer 7 character. Self awareness is so absent with him.
But he has also shown to hate DK fans, simply because they want a new DK game after 10 years. The most important thing in media, is this old chestnut "GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!" Nintendo doesn't do that very often, they wanted a new DK game, nah let's just release DKCR for the 3rd time. We want a new Metroid game that will fix the issues of Other M, especially the character assissination of Samus Aran! NAH! Let's make a game about the cattle that is the galatic federation, that will make people like them, after we made them stuned Samus in the previous game.
I swear to God Harman isn't an Nintendo fan. If he was he would see the issues in this. But alas he will only hate on games everyone likes to try and look like some kind of fat rebel. People like F-Zero GX!? NO they are just "Gamecube babies." People think Starfox Zero, is a lazy retread of Starfox one and 64 with awful motion controls. "Well I've beaten the game it isn't hard." Being hard isn't the issue it is lazy and practically unplayable to some. NO YOU ARE ALL WRONG.
Want a new DK game after 10 years? "STOP COMPLAINING."
Like Paper Mario TTYD? "NO DON'T SUPPORT THAT IT PUSHES AN AGGENDA ON TRANS PEOPLE!" Yet that is a small minority of people saying that, and let's face it he hates it simply because the blue sock puppet likes it.
Preferred a fan game over the offical Metroid 2 remake. "NO THE NINTENDO REMAKE IS CLEARY SUPERIOR AND YOU PEOPLE CAN'T BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!"

His hatred towards fan games is also staggering. Sega hired a fan who made Sonic fangames on, and he made the best 2D Sonic in decades with Sonic Mania.
Dan Salvto, started with Project M for Brawl, made his own company, and produced one of the best visual novel games, in Doki Doki Literature Club, which in itself has a boat load of fan mods.
And there is Makoto Kedouin he is the creator of Corpse Party, and he doesn't hinder fans from making fangames, some fans asked him if they could make a remake of the original Japanese game, and he went "Sure go for it." and CP Rebuilt is very well done. He also loves many of the other fangames, but especially CP Zero, a fangame where Kedouin loved it so much, he included the two protags of the game, in the main canon of the series. The youngest sister Shiho actually is found dead in the same way she died in the fangame. And the older sister Kaori who did survive in Zero, has also been killed in the main canon too. But he liked it so much he included them, in the Blood Covered remake, and even in the manga too.
It is people like Harman, who clearly is so self hating of his lack of talent, that he has to bring down people with actual talent, like these fangame creators, because we all know he couldn't do anything like that.

Cody has officially played Elden Ring on stream! As per usual, he already decided his opinion on it long before playing it. He played it for 2.5 hours (60 hours just for the main story btw) before declaring that it was trash. I guarantee that he only played it so people would stop criticising him for not playing it.
Not only did he buy the game, despite his insistence of "DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T BUY IT", he got the Steam version, when PC is his most hated platform. More evidence of his pure Nintendo elitism being nothing more than a grift to his fans. Apparently he plays it for a maximum of 2.5 hours before quitting, and overall his commentary is worse than what I'd imagine DSP's to be:

  • Receives input prompts for KB/M, but doesn't bother changing this setting even though he prefers to play on gamepad.
  • His character is a Nick Rekieta caricature. He comments on the Body Type A/B thing, though for once doesn't feel like using this as an immediate opportunity to hate on Fromsoft.
  • Selects Bandit. As a very casual Souls fan, I don't know if this says anything about Cody, other than that he is probably a DEXfag.
  • "Why don't people joke about Sauron being the good guy more often?" While remembering that George R.R. Martin contributed some writing to the game.
  • Calls the game's opening cutscene shit, claims Dark Soul's was better (Likely because it had more animation going on and big fancy stuff happening, Cody reminding us that he cares only for spectacles)
  • Claims that From ripped off Hollow Knight upon seeing the intro name the Dung Eater.
  • Asks why people treat this as a separate IP. (Technically it is, but nobody really bothers to be invested in whether it is.)
  • Comments "Already this isn't as impressive as Breath of the Wild and its opening cinematic" only just prior to encountering the Grafted Scion.
  • Makes a "how dare you assume my pronouns" joke when he notices that Melina refers to his character male. Coincidentally, Cody correctly pronounces "gender" for once. Typically he pronounces with with a hard G.
  • "Yeah, Nintendo games from like 2020, uh, I think 2021 onwards have been trying to do this thing, where they, they try and pretend that, like, uh, avatar characters are "they/thems". You know, Fire Emblem Engage did it, Three Hopes (Houses) did it, Splatoon 3 did it. So at the very least I'll give Fromslop this, at least they didn't use use they/them pronouns. I mean they have gender indeed/identity (unsure of his intended word) but it's better than what Nintendo's doing."
  • Actually proves he's either played some amount of Bloodborne and Dark Souls, seen enough gameplay footage to remember something, or at least received enough word of mouth to make comments on things, like the first wolf beast in Bloodborne, or talks about sorceries "being impractical" in Dark Souls 1 on the grounds of sorceries being limited use (As opposed to costing mana) He doesn't mention FP, so no guarantee on DS3. He also asks about dual wielding but doesn't mention power stancing, so he likely hasn't touched DS2 either. He pulls of two-handing from remembering it being possible in DS1. He botches equipping aarrows, though he chalks it up to never botheirng with ranged weapons in Dark Souls. He never iuntuits that arrows go into their own inventory slot, spending a rather significant amount of time for something rather basic.
  • "It's like Sekiro only more lame": after being taught about crouching.
  • Manage to beat Soldier of Godrick after consuming all his flasks.
More to come, but I'm tired at the moment.

I'm not watching both videos in their entirety at the moment (I've not finished watching his Elden Ring stream either), but I think one thing is rather clear. The only evidence that Cody has of actually being the Nintendo-only supremacist he claims himself to be is his proven willingness to waste his money and double dip on games the moment their Switch ports release, proving himself to be the video game equivalent of a low-functioning autistic child who refuses to drink anything unless it's presented to him inside a glittery sippy cup with cartoon baby dinosarus and giraffes painted all over. Portability is no benefit to him considering that he's become increasingly sloven and sedentary, moving only when an immediate physical demand presents itself such as his intestines' needs to empty themselves or when when his body itches too much from being AWOL from the shower for too long. Cody never interacts with anyone in meatspace who'd give him the opportunity to whip out his Switch.

In truth, Cody doesn't actually enjoy the Switch that much and is lying to himself. I'll even dare say this: His hatred of Elden Ring was possible only through his avoidance of the game, and while is generally garbage at it, is not encountering enough bullshit situations to enable a ragequit that could fuel his Harmanisms for months to come. He's invested himself too much in being a Nintendo fan to self-justify ever stopping now. It probably even bites at him like a pair of seductive vampire fangs during the twilight and night hours that the people most willing to genuinely engage with him in any meaningful way, including discussion of his novels are on another gaming platofrm. Retrofuzion's mouth hole is eager, but it is a cheap novelty, stimulating his ego and FLUDD nozzle for only so long and so much. Thoughts of Nick Rekieta cannot prevent him from the endorphins of The Lands Between actually giving him some enjoyment, and has to stop before he can subconciously develop the realization that...A non-Nintendo game is fun, and that he not only missed out, but forced himself to miss out out of sheer fake pride. He returns to his Harmanisms of alleged consensus about the game, about Nintendo products and the supposed conspiracy against Nintendo by the entirety of the gaming industry and the consumer.

With only ten more IQ points than Chris-Chan, Cody Lee "Harman Smith" Inman shows us that he is the Nintendo half of CWC. The Pikachu who formed Sonichu. The Vegeta to another's Goku. There is a new mystery and it is who his Other could be. Every Smough has his Ornstein.

This is incredible. I thought it was pretty apparent that his hatred of Elden Ring was a lust for Elden Ring. No one is that obsessed with something they claim to hate without there being a component of envy or yearning.

I've said it before, but you cannot rage at a product for so many years then cave and buy it anyway. That's one of the least principled things you can do. All it's done is expose his obvious desire to play the game. I expect he'll continue playing it secretly (if not on stream, pretending he hates it to his 2-5 fans).

Anywho, people were excited as Prime had brought back Metroid back into the light, and changed the franchise up for the better in many people's eyes.
If Cody were around back then, he'd have been of the people complaining that Nintendo ruined Metroid by copying Halo.
Actually proves he's either played some amount of Bloodborne and Dark Souls, seen enough gameplay footage to remember something, or at least received enough word of mouth to make comments on things, like the first wolf beast in Bloodborne, or talks about sorceries "being impractical" in Dark Souls 1 on the grounds of sorceries being limited use (As opposed to costing mana) He doesn't mention FP, so no guarantee on DS3. He also asks about dual wielding but doesn't mention power stancing, so he likely hasn't touched DS2 either. He pulls of two-handing from remembering it being possible in DS1.
Between this and his endless talk and now gameplay of Elden Ring, Cody seems like he's as big of a Fromsoft fanboy as a Nintendo fanboy.

Exactly. This is all it is, his desire to play it and he will 100% keep playing it while bitching incessantly and then conclude it is not good (while obviously enjoying it to some degree) or he will play it in secret. This "lust" of his is so obvious whenever he obsesses about something to that level. He just cannot help himself and is completely unable to mask it. It is not about being a grifter or Nintendo elitist or going back on his principles or whatever, but a very simple point about his jealousy and FOMO concerning the game. He hates that people are talking about it and praising it, but he obviously wants to play it himself, he would just never admit it. It is what someone else said earlier, which describes him perfectly, a child who plays/watches/engages with a certain thing first and then reflexively calls it better than something new that was brought up by a friend without actually engaging with that new thing. Then trying that new thing in secret with "I just wanna confirm that this other thing I played is better" cope. Then defiantly announcing that "his thing" is indeed better.

Of course, there is also the spiteful manchild component in it as well. He would never "submit" to the people he has held a grudge against for two decades now because they said Nintendo was for kids or talked about "mature games" or whatever else. He could spend the next two years of streaming playing nothing but Elden Ring, going through every inch of the map, completing 7 new game plus runs etc. and he would still smugly claim that the game isn't good and that some other game in a completely different genre, but carrying Nintendo branding is better. On the other hand, he will talk about how he has so much to play and doesn't have time for mediocre games. Then he will list all these Dragon Quest games and other stuff, but never actually play them. When it comes time to stream, he will instead replay the few old games that he has already beaten a hundred times or try a new game for a few hours and not touch it for months, or ever again. These games that he talks about needing to play have been in his backlog for years. He says "I just don't have time because of my work and personal life" yet lies on his couch with his shirt up for 10 hours on weekends, replaying 30 year old games for the three viewers that he gets, two of which are his alts.

Sometimes people think that Cody's psychology is way deeper and more complex than it actually is, that he is either some elaborate troll or that he slipped up in his grift etc. The simple reality is that he isn't a grifter, but a person stuck at a child's mental level who simply can't go against himself. It is his uninhibited desires and whims coated in wholly transparent, autistic tells.

Well realistically did any of us believe he would actually go and play Elden Ring, and not only that go into it with an open mind? Of course not, he in his first impressions video, says "You can tell Elden Ring is worse then Zelda just from the opening cina....um opening segements." He was automatically going to hate it simply because it didn't have as much animation in it.

He also does he typical. "Nintendo franchises are all better, I can't figure a single one I would rather not play over Elden Ring." And how Elden Ring is "Just the exact same thing as DS but open world." Even claiming he has beatent DS1 twice. (I doubt that for some reason).

He also makes the "Open world is empty" arguement, fairly rich as BOTW and TOTK have very empty open worlds. Yet it isn't as good as Zelda, he also claims Miyazaki is crying going "Oh uh I will never make a better game then Nintendo." Yeah I'm sure he is crying into his millions Harman. Not only that but you can say the same thing about Eiji Aonuma, watch.
"Oh wah wah, I will never make a better game then Skyrim." See it is just that easy.

Surprise surprise, he played it for another 4 hours on stream last night.
I am genuinely glad he's having a good time. People have been telling him for a long while that he needs to loosen up and enjoy non-Nintendo things.

I don't buy that he's giving the game a thorough shot just so he can review it poorly, and I don't know how you can come away from it still thinking BotW is better.

Recent events of both the general (You know) and personal variety are taking more of my time and energy, but it seems like Cody's not going to stop enjoying Elden Ring any time soon like the tubby tsundere he is.

As for the other video, The Megaten audience has been a multiplat audience for a long time. The fact that it's been more consistently available on Nintendo platforms shouldn't mean anything to Cody on account of the fact that he's not displayed much of any interest in the franchise beyond SMT5 while he generally hated on Persona 5(And went as far as to argue that Tokyo Mirage Sessions was better than it) and has had little reaction to Persona 4 (Though he's streamed it before) I've yet to see any signs of him even playing or having an opinion on SMT4, Apocalypse, Strange Journey, Devil Survivor, or any other game in the franchise.

Cody argues that that Atlus put SMT5 on sale specifically to attempt to gather more of a non-Nintendo fanbase and fake sales numbers. He then brings up Horizon and claims that it is astroturfed (which is true, but Cody has no real train of thought to justify confiding in him for substance behind his own claim), and mentions Terraria, downplaying its long term success because "But Super Mario Bros is available on multiple platforms" and argues that it's meaningless how successful Terraria is because "It won't get a sequel that'll be as successful". After this, he goes on a weird spiel about "Metroid Prime vs Halo". It seems Cody got annoyed by people enjoying Halo during his childhood.

It makes me wonder how Cody will feel about the fact that eventually, he'll live in a world where all the game developers living above his agre group will be retired or have died of old age He hates fan content and doesn't appear to be satisfied with playing old games or the same games forever, if his having more than just a Switch is any indication. While we're all bound to play less video games as we age, he'll probably get tired of them too to some extent, but who knows.

Guy can't even build his own PC.

You know, it's a little weird that Cody is always bragging about his "high-end gaming PC". He's never proven he has one or talked about its specs, yet it's often the first thing he brings up whenever he talks about PC gaming. Someone who has a high-end PC probably wouldn't be looking to upgrade it unless they upgrade to Nvidia's 90 class card every generation, which Cody definitely does not. It's almost like Cody is lying about having a high-end PC to deflect criticism! But what do I know? I'm but a mere PC Snoy Neet.

“There’s nothing to play on PC, guys. There’s nothing on Steam. It’s all better and superior on Switch. PC and Steam are dying platforms. With that in mind, let me invest multiple hundreds of dollars into a desktop PC because my 600 dollar laptop, which I bought exclusively for work mind you, is not up to my standards. What for you ask? Oh, PC gaming sucks, don’t get me wrong, I just wanna have it so I can try these shovelware games and tell you why they suck. How do I find the time with my busy schedule you ask? Well the thing is, I don’t actually have time to play all these shovelware games because I have so many better games to play on Nintendo platforms.

This is why, the other day, I put as much as 30 minutes into Live A Live, 30 minutes into Ace Attorney, and a whopping 14 minutes into Luigi’s Mansion 2, the brand new Remaster/Port that I have been super excited about. Why did I look half asleep while doing it? I don’t know what you’re talking about, pretendo. I tried to start a Final Fantasy game at the end of the stream, but I didn’t even get to the title screen. It is just because I am so busy, lots of things on my plate with the novels, the website, running my channel, working 12 hours a day, you know how it is. On the other hand, I put four and a half hours into Elden Ring and looked way more engaged but I was just faking it, obviously. I am not like those YouTube cucks who get paid by FromSlop to be shills. You would have to be delusional and looking to present a narrative if you thought I genuinely enjoyed myself while playing that astroturfed FromSlop game.

Why did I put that much time into it then you ask? Like I said, I wanna play it so I can see that it is shit and talk about it despite the fact that there are dozens and hundreds of games that I have called shit in the past and never touched and never plan to touch. Also despite the fact that there are games I claim are great but can only stomach 45 minute long sessions at the time. I mean…I just wanna be familiar with the games I am talking about hehe. Trust me though, I am definitely completely satisfied with just Nintendo and totally engrossed in their products. I am NOT, in any way shape or form, simply going through the motions with my brain on autopilot while playing through Super Mario Bros for the 519th time. You would have to be absolutely crazy and delusional to think that I am somehow depriving myself of something else or forcing myself to appear like I enjoy something more than I actually do. I am most certainly NOT yearning for something fresh and new. Now about that new PC…”

Cody is now trying to turn things around by making a video about Elden Ring fans, denying that he enjoys the game and is playing "only to prove a point", thinking that people are claiming he's having fun because however much progress he's made or however much time he's spent and not so much the stimulation displayed as he plays through the game. Cody tries to deflect from himself by claiming his usual bull about Elden Ring and Fromsoft fans, though he brings up a new talking point by claiming that From fans refuse to play non-From games and even Armored Core, a game which he described on his discord as looking "awesome".. His criticisms of the game include the fact that it can be cheesed and that it's easier than other Souls games, which, to his likely consternation, people have generally stated as a positive due to its increased accessibility and freedom that the open world provides without being or feeling watered down for the sake of an outsider audience. He states that the game is woke (On the grounds of there being homosexuality, even though the homosexuals in question are antagonists and thus would fit The Harman Smith version of the Bechdel test (Either no LGBTs or all LGBTs depicted as being bad or villainous))., and tries to fault fans' knowledge and old information being made less true due to the discovery of new information, nevermind the fact that this is something that occurs whenever expansions and sequels occur on a regular basis. He also tries to give himself and "people like himself" a charitable view of being open-minded by mentioning how "Zelda fans will try both Zelda and Fromsoft games", then establish a false narrative of From fans avoiding and knowing nothing about Zelda.

There's more he states, but it's of little significance as it's little more than strained lines of thought done to achieve a ten minute commentary length. He hopes you don't realize that Elden Ring activated his almonds a little.

This such a dumb point. A lot of Zelda fans, myself included, moved onto Fromsoft when they grew up because of an innate love for fantasy. Why does gaming have to be segregated hobby?

Him criticizing the difficulty is nonsense too since he won't hold Zelda to the same standard.
