I actually read those tweets earlier. The "professor" (I'm not sure what his actual role is), made some 2nd amendment comments that were sort of threatening. I can see why the police investigated and requested a psych evaluation. If they did nothing, they would be crying about how the system had failed despite reporting it.
It was an overreaction that resulted in a very minor inconvenience for him, a few hours. Trump was never involved and indeed has no power at the moment.
