Every aerial photo I've sen shows him more in the center of the roof but all the pics of his body taken from the ground with the cops standing over him look like he's right on or near the edge. I had wondered how this guy, or anyone at all, could use a 5 foot ladder (which is what he purchased) to get on a roof. Anyone who's been on a five foot ladder knows they'd be useless for such a task.

Unless there's a little doorway with a perfect spot for you to set the ladder up on. You use the ladder to ascend to the spot above the doorway, pull it up, now it's not an obvious ground level ladder, you ascend a second time, this time to the roof. This part checks out really well with what we knew and the ladder size never made sense to me until now. Thank you. I was going crazy trying to understand, why a 5 foot ladder? But this way, he could make sure no one could follow him up the way he came. That's a clever touch. This person has been looking at this building and thinking about this problem for some time.

This is a level of planning that doesn't jibe with any kind of schizo/supernutter theory. This guy was stone cold sane and capable of planning out an attack for days or weeks.

Normally I agree, but enough of these lunatics pop up to where it’s not impossible that the stars aligned for this guy. I agree with penalizing them up to this point. Alphabet soup surveillance shouldn't be further expanded and legitimized. I prefer a more grassroots approach to solving these kinds of social problems. If Trump was wearing a common kevlar undershirt it wouldn't stop a rifle round, those only work against pistols. He appears to be wearing something thicker now, which may be multilayered kevlar which I understand can stop smaller rifle rounds like the ones fired by most AR-15s. Ceramic plates offer the best protection against rifle rounds but I don't know if he could walk around wearing them for a significant amount of time at his age.

Various reports are saying that he bought a 5 foot ladder at home depot prior to the shooting, so the one it's pointing at would certainly fit that bill. There's also speculation that he climbed on top of some sort of air conditioning unit which, again, is consistent with the area identified in the pic.
