I feel like perfectly normal people get up on this stage and suddenly develop speech impediments

I've given a fair number of speeches, presentations, etc. that being up on a stage doesn't bother me even though I don't particularly like public speaking. There are some times though where you're in a room and the mood overtakes you and you're going to feel like you scarcely know how to speak anymore. After some of the other people on stage, I can easily see some of the speakers who might otherwise be fine becoming overwhelmed. This is a convention that people are going to be talking about for a long time and that's getting to some of the people in attendance.
