Ahhh, so Biden has COVID (again). Cool. Let's take a poll. Is this:
  1. An attempt to draw sympathy to Biden away from Trump
  2. A reason to get Biden to step down that wouldn't be too hard for their base (largely comprised of maskers) to cope with
  3. Poopoo doodoo stank
  4. Try to get COVID started up again to boost 4 AM mail in ballots
?
A mix of 2

and 5. Get him to campaign from his basement again because the General Election is a lost cause for him at this point, so the best he can do now is to not stink up the Democrats running in the down ballots this November.

>grew up in Middleton, Ohio

So is he saying that he's not an Appalachian?

He was born in rural Kentucky, his family moved to Ohio when he was young but they probably carried a lot of that Appalachian mindset with them, it's not something that ever really leaves you, speaking from experience. I imagine they told him a lot about their experiences, I learned a ton from my grandparents, they were always tough as nails.

The crowd is getting rambunctious, and he's rolling with it.. Vance is talking up single moms and badass grandmas. This is a good intro for the guy, if nothing else.

Holy crap his grandma had 19 loaded handguns stashed around the house, lol.

So an aside, Fox News reported secret service director is at the RNC and got cornered by a bunch of Republican senators to ask her what the fuck is going on. It's amazing they still have this person in a position of responsibility for Trump's security AND that she is being distracted by people asking about her LAST massive security failure.

As much as I like Teddy the man, the progressive movement ultimately was about the destructing of localized charity in favor of social security and mass insurance schemes, income taxes that crush the middle and working class, and the federal reserve we all have to deal with now, and Teddy spearheaded a lot of this.
At the start Progressivism was literally eugenics and urban sanitation programs. Abortions for immigrants and removing the roving packs of wild hogs from city streets. It was an elite project motivated by how much they didn't like all the stink and foreigners.

If push comes to shove it would be funny to see the 25th Amendment used against Biden by Kamala Harris.

Here is the relevant text for how that would work:
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
