Recent events? One of the few times I've ever seen people on reddit actually come to their senses was on how awful GoT season 8 was. That's about it.
Yeah, I'll call BS on this too simply because of what happened in the mid-terms where this demographic supposedly prevented the Left from getting rekted. Now I'm supposed to believe they want to support Republicans? Why?

If you're concerned about this, volunteer. I'm not trying to call you out personally, just saying that anybody who worries about this has the chance to do something about it. I've worked polls a handful of times over the years, and while it's a fast paced and very long day, the work isn't terribly difficult.I tend to agree, alsobut the Dems do seem frayed. I just hope the election volunteers come out in massive numbers to protect the polling places from that 4AM bullshit and ballot dumps. It can be done, Virginia is proof. It just takes motivation. Seeing Trump almost die but continue telling everyone to fight, well if that isn't a motivator, nothing is.

I saw one dude who like "it's simple to tell that Trump's base of support has completely evaporated, just look here at Reddit!!" That same day RCP and 538 had him up nationally by like three points, these people cannot fathom that they and their ingroup aren't the general population

I hope the Democratic Party is completely destroyed after Trump's second term. The surviving elements of the regime might graft themselves onto the Greens or start a new party, the Girldick-For-Palestine Party. Either way, a major party hasn't been completely destroyed since the end of the whigs.
There's a non-schizo version of that theory that I first heard through Academic Agent that says the regime always signals to its followers ahead of time when its about to make a move. This one is mostly true. Months ago, regime media were warming to Trump and chilling on Biden.
The reason this is required is because the regime is not centralized. It is a hydra with many heads, as we can see now in the Biden-nomination power struggle. The left head may not know what the right head is doing, so they must signal to each other like worker bees to avoid collisions and to make sure the drones that worship the hydra are never confused about what the message is and what they should be feeling, thinking and doing.
None of that requires chaos magic or karma or whatever. Its just a piece of social technology to help a decentralized oligarchy keep moving in one direction. Of course, now it seems like that's breaking down as the regime fights for its life in disarray.
The regime has been signalling that it wants to replace Biden for a while now. It is amplifying its signalling out of panic. Biden is an organ of the regime, though, ripping him out will cost them a lot of blood.
And the left-head refuses to abide the whims of its brother-heads. This is the problem of oligarchy. A little centralized executive control would help them rally, but instead its a pit of vipers coiling up into a knot as they try to eat each other.
Power means protection. When the regime can't protect the lemmings, they'll look for a new protector. Show strength now and mercy later, after we've well and truly won the fight.
I think if this was true they'd have actually stopped him well-ahead of him taking the shot, imo, given the amount of time they had to realize their asset had gone rogue and pull him back in. I agree with the rest of your analysis, though. I really think one of the heads of the hydra was taking its shot.
Democracy is fake and gay, and mass democracy scales very poorly past the city-state level. But systems are only part of the equation. Garbage-in, garbage-out. To fix the country generally means making Americans less fat, lazy, stupid and degenerate.
