It's "quite common" now.

It was not common, then. Canucks were, as you said, "retarded" - they were a propaganda piece, because so many Canadians signed up for the First World War.

Out of 8,000,000 people, 600,000 served and most of them signed up straight away. While the USA wasn't in the war, Canada is internationally famous and recognised as one of the bravest nations.

It really shows, your granddad would be called a "coward" and a "deserter" and scorned in Canada. You don't seem to comprehend that this concept exists in other countries. Someone who moved to the USA and didn't immediately return to fight for his country was a coward and a deserter.

You know - Russia has been extremely clear that in the event of a war, they will skip past European armies and target Americans first, concentrating their attacks on Americans.

There is no way Whitmer or Shapiro are going to jump into this mess. First off if Biden doesn't endorse Harris, that's going to piss off a lot of white college women voters which is basically their best voting block. If they nominate a white man, that will be even worse. To try and go to this mess of a convention with a nationally unknown candidate and then nominate someone and turn around and run a campaign in less than 3 months is nonsense. It will have to be Harris, probably an Andy Beshear or another somebody that can be sacrificed without hurting their career too badly, or really doesn't have much of a career left. If all this happens, the Democrats are just trying to save the Senate and or the House and to remove Biden/Harris from the board going into 2028, that's when you will see Newsom/Shapiro/Whitmer jumping in.

That's what I'm hoping for, a true Whig style implosion. Whatever the successor party is will probably still have Democrat in the title, like "Green-Democrat Party" or "Diversity and Democracy Party."

I hope that Biden mumbled some shit that someone took as his agreement to drop out, which his demented brain forgets about entirely and that the entire weekend goes without any announcement from Biden who next weeks makes another announcement about his recovery from COVID and intention to continue to running.

I only want this because I can't imagine anything more chaotic or funny.
