I remember looking at the 2020 election map and being shocked how little a margin trump seemed to lose states like NY and CA by. I'd expect close to or a total shut out in those states but he really didn't do that bad.

Yes, but in contrast he only won Texas by 6 points. That's less than his 9% margin in 2016 and Romney's 15% margin in 2012. It's also where Biden has been relentlessly flooding millions of illegal immigrants, handing out voter registration info to them as they are released from custody into the public.

For all the inroads Trump makes in traditionally blue states, the long-term trends and migration patterns in red states (legal as well) have been threatening his margins there.

You're right and as a Catholic it's genuinely conflicting. It's hard to reconcile faith with common sense politics sometimes and there are things I just don't know the answer to. I got flak for criticizing the universalist character of Christianity a while back in the thread, but where do you think this kind of politically suicidal behavior comes from? I mean, apart from Church Leadership being an arm of Davos. I was raised Catholic and it is truly shameful the state of the Church today. I would welcome a new schism if it meant a Church that supported borders.

To be fair, Trump did a lot better with the spics in Southern Texas, it mostly the suburban areas where he lost support and that support was lost because of the pandemic. Still with Biden getting the most votes by a president in history, he still lost the state by 6%, 2020 was just a weird year overall.

I think the whole Biden situation is proof that the Dems are not exactly the infallible shadowy puppet masters that doomers want to portray them as.

Think of it like a hydra. There are many heads that all draw life from the same body, and this mutual dependency and origin tends to make them act as one, but the heads are indeed separate and may collide with one another as they thrash about in times of danger. There is no central executive controlling everything because at the end of the day what we're talking about when we talk about "the regime" or "the deep state" is a decentralized oligarchy composed of influential networks. Sometimes it coordinates amongst itself, no doubt, but there is no grand plan. If it seems that way sometimes it's because the rules governing power and politics tends to create similar outcomes over time.

I get viscerally upset every time I see a California, New York, or Oregon license plate (I'm in the southeast). Couple weeks ago I actually saw a California plate car that had a Biden sticker on it.
