(Sorry if this isn't worth its own thread, I couldn't really find a place for it to go)

Ghostarchive.org , a website lots of Kiwis use for archiving tweets, is currently experiencing downtime within the last hour. I asked others if the site was down for them as well and it was.

I believe it's because of the Windows server issue that a lot of companies have been having. It's also been happening with other websites.
I'm surprised that the CrowdStrike disaster is also affecting them. I hope they learned their lesson now and are switching to OpenBSD at least.

I have no idea what sort of setup they run, but I seem to recall getting error messages from their server in the past that mentioned Fedora. Don't quote me on that though, my memory is not the sharpest.
edit: I know very little about servers but that stuck out in my mind because why would you choose Fedora instead of Alma or Rocky or whatever people moved to after CentOS.

It may be back online but creating an archive keeps failing for me. Unsure if this is another issue or the same.

Edit: Fixed now.

This is the first time I've heard of Ghostarchive. Is there any significant advantages to using it over archive.today?

It's just good to have multiple archive sites in case one of them goes down. Other than that, Ghostarchive can also archive multiple tweets on a page (although you can use archive.today with nitter.poast.org or xcancel.com to achieve the same).
