I think those cringy Chris Hansen-wannabe influencers like MamaMax or Vitaly are a psyop to make hating on pedophiles look gay and cringe. Same with how many Manosphere and Incel influencers made being anti-feminist look gay and cringe by trying to make them inherent with pedophillia.

I really hate using this leftist term 'normalization' but yeah normalization of pedophillia in the present day is especially concerning. Especially that fucking coal-ass cunny meme and other influencers who make it 'look cool'. Honestly I think this goes way beyond just trannies only since a lot of so-called 'based' influencers like the aforementioned have been trying to soft power their way into making pedophillia normalized.

The amount of groups, platforms and movements that are currently pushing for pedophilia/sexual content to be pushed on minors is honestly staggering. There's the alphabets, OnlyFans, Twitch, which last year allowed for nudity to be shown on stream, even pushing it to the front page, Discord, furries, gachafags, VTubers, Elsagate/Incredigate and Youtube Kids in general, 90% of the "dissident right", e-tradcaths, amateur web development communities like Neocities', hell, even anime out of all places has somehow become more pedophilic thanks to a show released at the beggining of this year which I absolutely refuse to mention.

It literally seems as if every place on the damn internet is swelling with groomers and kid diddlers.

P. S The cunny "meme" was born thanks to the Blue Archive gachafags (a game @Higgs Bonbon is a fan of)

There's nothing inherently bad with anime/manga. I like a lot of anime/manga albeit sporadically. The real issue is the fact that anime/manga is mainstream now. It used to be back then that if you were a 'big' fan of anime/manga you'd be stereotyped as this below:

But generally anime fans back then kept to themselves and had no ambitions of pushing for any IRL political change.

They just wanted to watch their niche Chinese cartoons in peace and be left alone to their own gated communities. There was an ecosystem where anime fans would be branded as losers by 'normies' and that kept everything in check. Being labeled a 'loser' isn't a bad thing since you're usually able to group yourself more tightly and thus the quality of people in said group are better on average.

Pedos who wanted to actually prey on kids usually try to seem presentable and hip but with anime being regarded as something for losers and nerds back then, it sorta lightened things up a bit. Most predators I know from the 2000s were the classic kind that only came from Web 1.0 chatrooms, the kind that were easy fodder for Chris Hansen.

But now that anime is mainstream and is seen as 'cool' that's why you see a lot of it these days.

Anime is permanently ingrained as part of zoomer culture and now whatever bad things associated with anime (like loli) are safe from any criticism because "oh it's only just fiction lol".

Hell a lot of these pedos who use the anime aesthetic aren't even real otakus. See your average Xitter anime avi, do they even watch the shows their pfp is from? It's obvious they're only into anime because kids these days are into it and that's a way of trying to attract them...
At least the old-school otaku I know kept to themselves and were all about "I PREFER 2D OVER 3D!".

Of course it's not perfect. Anime in general has a shit ton of degeneracy. But at least it was better than anime avis on Xitter using (((edgy humor))) to joke about raping real kids, they'd just stick to their own places far away from normal people.

It's hard to see anime/manga as separate from pedophilia when it specifically comes from a country whose culture didn't even criminalize possession of CSAM until the 21st century, and even now only gives out relatively light sentences for it. There was that manga artist who was busted with hundreds upon hundreds of physical DVDs of CSAM in the past couple years and only got something like 3 years.

There are some countries that do not punish CSAM possesion, even to this day. The most prominent example are Russia and the rest of post-soviet states (except for Ukraine).

And Nobuhiro Watsuki (the manga author you mentioned) got away with it largely due to his connections with prominent and influential people, which, while absolutely reprehensible and despicable, happens everywhere (just look at Polanski)

Every joke made about Boku no Pico was calling it out for being fucked up though. No one ever unironically said "yes it's a great anime!" nor condoned it the punchline was always "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GROSS SHIT?! WE GOTTA NUKE JAPAN AGAIN!".
This is very different from ((((edgy humor)))) people on Xitter and Discord servers who 'joke' about cunny by posting loli porn and spam the crying emoji... Like what's even the punchline?
