That indirectness basically equates to politeness in JP, that they went that route likely means the reason for his graduation wasn't something like Mel (where they came right out and said she breached her contract) And it's probably just something as benign as a contract disagreement, he wanted something the company couldn't do for him, or the company wanted something he couldn't provide, and so they decided to just part ways instead.
They did also say it has become difficult to continue managing Mel in her contract termination notice. It could be that he did the same thing and Cover were worried that it would look bad that they have lost another talent for the same reason so decided not to mention why. They did get some flak for firing Mel for the same reason they fired Rushia although the circumstances were different. We will probably never know what happened.
