Some foods taste better after having time to mature. A stew or a lasagna is at it's best after 2 or 3 days in the fridge and is the type of food you make in this situation. It's a nice gesture and it makes the man feel cared about and the woman feel like she's still doing her job taking care of her partner even though she has to leave for a while. Most women enjoy feeding their family and knowing they're doing something nice for them and expressing their feelings through food.

It's sad you don't understand there's many layers of affection running through simple things in relationships. It might only be putting some food in a box but it showed she cared and was trying to make his life easier when she wasn't there. And you find this upsetting for some reason and get angry with him/men for not pressuring their partners into not taking care of them when they want to?

I said it before and you ignored it but now I'm genuinely curious, do you share the same belief about a wife who doesn't go outside and mow a big yard if a husband needs to leave for a week? The vast majority of wives are not going to do that and will instead just expect the husband to handle it taking 2 to 3 times the work/time when they return.
