I haven't watched The Simpsons in years. My memory is a bit fuzzy. Again, how many shows/sitcoms then depicted an average American family in the same vein as The Simpsons? The status quo then was looser for entertainment to take risks with comedy and social commentary. It's not even about politics, it's about nuance. I'm sure liberalism wasn't worn on people's sleeves as a badge of honor; Americans were leaving the funk/disco era into raw, cool, no fucks given expressionism.

Married With Children and Malcolm In the Middle both depicted average American families in the same vein as The Simpsons and sometimes dished out cutting political commentary in a humorous way, Malcolm moreso than Married. Those two shows got a little more slack because they weren't animated, so therefore weren't as attractive to children. Adult animation was a new thing when The Simpsons came out, a lot of people didn't get the whole concept. That's why people went after the Simpsons so hard, not the messages themselves.

They were both waaay more neutral than the simpsons. the simpsons always had a liberal taint to it.

It's bizarre he would say 'murder'. When you're advocating for someone's death it's unusual to use the term 'murder' because it's inherently suggesting injustice. I'd expect him to say 'kill', 'execute' or just 'assassinate' but this absolute whackjob used 'murder'. He is then 'feeling excited' when talking about raping both Trump and Vance's daughters to prove a point (that wouldn't be proven, because pro life people already either believe exceptions should be made for rape or believe a baby is innocent and would want their daughter to carry it to term even if this lame and probably infertile man managed to impregnate them).

And I mean A LOT of rape wishes. One of my favorite mass psychosis moments was listening to a group of them discussing what to do to POWs during a Civil War and to their opposition when they win. It was basically reeducation camps with lots of rape.

The only explanation I could give for their fascination with raping and murdering their opposition is that they're incredibly delusional about it happening to them and their allies, so they feel justified in returning it in full.
