What im going to write now is a critic of
Ruben Sim. No, not for any of the reasons shown in this thread, so bear with what I'll write.
Some people here might remember the document I posted on the Roblox community thread regarding TSC. Im one of the people that worked in the team that wrote that document, and alongside TSC, we also cover a huge amount of other degenerate communities in Roblox.
One thing we noticed whoever, is what I like to call "futile" and "not futile" communities. What I mean by this?
Everyone knows that Ruben Sim mostly focuses on the "ERP accounts" and "condo" games. And this is what I categorize as "futile" communities. As in, communities where it is futile to attempt to stop for mainly these two reasons:
- The "hydra" effect: Cut one head off, three others appears. We always see this, especially with how the roblox moderation only deletes accounts instead of issuing IP bans, which makes evading these bans even easier.
- The people that "seek" the services of these people / communities: I find it
extremely unlikely that Little Timmy just logs on Roblox, and decides to chat with BBCBull123. Rather, it's the 13yr groomed femboy thats going to do that.
The effort needed to both ban these people AND for said people to make new accounts / condos is very low, and the demographic they're targetting is the one that was already affected long ago.
Now im going to talk about the communities that are not futile. I'll be using TSC / the transfur genre as an example:
- Effects on the community has massive results: Huge communities are very susceptible to disruption. Unlike these small and very loosely connected cells of condo games and ERP accounts, these are full blown communities that, if banned, would be very heavily disrupted if not outright killed off.
- Masquerading as innocent content: TSC specifically currently operate on roblox by "masquerading" as an innocent game, as a "SCPF" group in this case. And guess what's the demographic of a SCPF group? That's right, kids that want to larp the SCP "universe". And these kids, unlike the ones that interact with ERP accounts and condo games, were not previously sexualized / groomed. What this means is that you have kids who have never been groomed before joining this """SCPF""" group, and being bombarded with degenerate trash, and are then groomed for the first time by the predators that lurk within it. Like people say, prevention is more effective than curing.
While the effort needed to terminate these communities is
much greater, it is also a very worthwhile effort that, in my opinion, has genuine positive effect on this situation, as these communities are the ones who first introduce lewd content to children, and that if disrupted, has heavy effect on the "pedophile community" in general in roblox.
I understand this is why Ruben covers these smaller communities. Easy content and shows the problem that exists in Roblox very easily to a wilder audience. But I still dont agree with it as I really dont think it actually does much to stop pedophiles from getting their hands on kids.
Sorry for this long rant, I just felt like I had to write about it, and asking Ruben about a proper response to this, maybe have a proper argument about it.
