Watching RFK jr press conference. He has convinced me more to Dem side in minute than anyone else before. Or well away from Trump side.
But I guess he is just saner populist.
Anti hiring biggest companies bosses to Government, anti polarization. I am team RFK jr.

Just realized he has been polling at like 10%... Damn. With Harris turning Dems to him and then "change/protest voters" following as he climbs to be 2nd in polls... he will be at 50%

RFK jr. 2024! LFG!

I think it's just a side effect of keeping the decision circle small. If they told anyone outside the inner circle, it would leak immediately, and that makes the announcement even worse.

This probably had about a dozen people planning and making decisions over the weekend, in complete secrecy. Once the final decision was made, they had the press secretary write up the statement on her own (maybe she was in the circle to begin with), release it on Biden's account, and then start letting everyone know. Websites and text getting updated is probably not in the top 10 list of most important things to get arranged.

There was the crossover with Law & Order where the yt supremacist from Baltimore gassed the subway in NYC, and at the end when McCoy is trying to get him to snitch on his frens, the guy goes we're everywhere, there's way more of us out there than you can even imagine and McCoy looks shook af. That was pretty edgy for mid-90s broadcast TV drama even after Oklahoma City

So potential third scenario: Biden had a stroke and they're getting out his resignation and postponing the news of his incapacity because if he is incapacitated before he steps down they have a difficult scenario of having to remove him from the ballots by other means.

You are right about the Bidens not having party continuity loyalty.

They hid his ass in 2020 and said everyone who called out his feeble state a nut bag. The inner ring of courtiers behaved exactly like a court would act when the monarch has gone insane.

Something I've not seen anyone mention is what this will do to the white boomer vote. I believe Biden did abnormally well among 65+. He managed to sell himself as the 40+ year known politico to stabilize the ship. Now that flips and they have to choose between a Trump that they don't like, but they can look back 4 years ago to see things were going well, vs a giant gamble on a young blackish communist that's oddly off-putting in a way they can't put their finger on and was directly responsible for the catastrophe of the past 4 years. I do think what is lost in the black vote as a result of this will be dwarfed by the clueless "don't rock my retirement boat" boomer demographic, which are legion.
