Four years of a barely-cognizant Biden having to shuffle through the presidency wasn't enough to dissuade Dem. leadership or the voterbase, because Trump must be defeated at all costs. They only publicly cared about his senescence after the debate, which was so arbitrary that you'd think it was just a pretext for a long-planned replacement. But none of this shit makes sense if Kamala's the replacement. Unlike Biden, she can't use age as an excuse for her bizarre behavior during public appearances, and as for any in-office policy record, her biggest association is with the admin's fuckups on immigration.
If Biden actually made the decision to withdraw, and didn't just get stuck with a fait accompli, then I doubt there's been any long-term agenda for getting him out. Meaning they haven't got any serious alternatives lined up, so Kamala's the default and only choice now. DNC strategists have got to be drinking bleach by now.
