Donald Trump truly is Teflon Don, in his short-lived political career he has:

-Said all sorts of shit that would have destroyed the career of any politician.
-Been smeared with the types of outright baseless accusations that would have destroyed the career of any politician.
-Had the entire economy buckle on his watch, even if it wasn’t his fault and did the best he could to mitigate the damage. People are still mad at Bush Jr.
-Been impeached, not once but twice.
-Been charged with a myriad of crimes, only one that ended up in a conviction, a conviction that has permanently destroyed the business climate of New York to the point that the governor had to reassure everyone else that it only applied to Trump. That didn’t work, New York is about to become a CRE desert. The other cases were thrown out because of either prosecutorial misconduct or the Supreme Court coming in to bail his ass out.

And last but certainly not least…

-Was literally fucking shot and very nearly died if it wasn’t for a quick turn of the head and a very fortunate MOA swing that sent the shot wide and took his ear off instead of sailing through his head.

This is a meltdown of cataclysmic proportions. 3 months before an election, with the primaries completed and 1 debate already done, and Dems are acting so casually about the coup d'état the just committed.

Biden dying in office would have been a better scenario for them. But now? They have to explain to their voter base why someone who was being touted as the candidate they were behind for 5 years was booted out in favor of someone they did not vote for. They have to answer as to why the party that has been preaching the protection of democracy, has done something so wildly undemocratic.

Legally speaking, there are going to be lawsuits out of the ass. The Heritage foundation are licking their chomps right now. If in some bizarre scenario Trump does not win, he might even have legal precedent to challenge the results through claiming voter suppression. Delegates AND superdelegates are binded to the winner of the Dem primary. I don't think it's set in how much of a near apocalyptic scenario this is for the Democratic party.
