I posted this theory in a different thread, but I think the DNC knows this campaign is DOA, yet they also know they've hyped up Kamala's progressive cred despite her being a hilariously bad politician. So they are using this opportunity to put Kamala's national-level political career in a bodybag, clearing any implied "obligation" they had to her.
Enjoy the next several months of Kamala cackling at extremely inappropriate times, coming completely unprepared to speeches then coughing up a memeable word salad of bullshit, and generally looking like the complete fuck-up that everyone who pays attention already knows she is. Then the DNC will simultaneously bury her while calling the country racist for not voting for her.
Mission accomplished. It's just too bad that Joe will not get the karmic comeuppance he deserves for being a shit president and letting his corrupt family prop him up to run for re-election when he's shuffling towards death's door.

Look at what happened to Joey Boy after the first debate. The curtain was finally pulled. Didn't even last a month post-debate, let alone until November.
Kamala has a history of doing horribly in debates and she has a record she cannot seriously defend. When Tulsi eviscerated her in the 2020 Dem primaries, all she had to say was "Well, I'm proud of my record." Even when she made good points about Joe Biden in the 2020 primaries, normies were turned off by her for being so cunty. There is zero chance she's going to appeal to independent voters.
Also, Dems have themselves cornered now. After Joe Biden's catastrophic debate performance, they can't afford to have another bad debate performance ... But at the same time, they need a good debate performance, so they can't just hide Kamala in the basement. It will look REALLY bad to voters if she refuses to debate. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Imagine a Trump vs. Harris debate ... When immigration policy gets brought up. Dude. That's going to be a bloodbath.

More likely, it will just be a worse version of that "unburdened by what has been" poetic faggotry, but you can't blame me for dreaming.

I didn't say they'd succeed - they won't - but they will serve their actual purpose: either to justify a cheat or to motivate their extremist base to do extremism so they can ruin people's lives while Trump is president, just like they did last time, and then blame Trump for it in an attempt to get a D president in next time. Guilting people doesn't motivate them to vote, it depresses the vote, but it creates a cloud of plausible deniability for a cheat and radicalizes stupid and unstable people.
The goal is not to get a genuine win. That is impossible. The goal is either to get just enough doubt to convince the American people of another cheat, or fan the flames of Antifa and burn cities for another 4 years and maybe get more assassination attempts along the way. There were multiple during Trump's last term. They'll say "These people are evil and bigoted and hate everything not white, straight, male and christian, and the only way to fend off the Holocaust 2 is violence in the streets and to make the Republicans fear going outside", and then they'll pretend that none of that was incitement and then repeat that in a loop for 4 years.
I don't think a Kennedy will ever be allowed to be president again.
She polls better because nobody really cares about the VP, which in Biden's case makes her more palatable than him. But she has no chance of a legitimate win.
That seems likely. Their best bet is to appeal to their most extreme voter base, because it's impossible to win the moderates. They can then pretend that their extreme base is way bigger than it actually is once they cheat and give Kamala 103 million votes.

It's definitely the smart decision, but that doesn't mean it'll be the one they'll take. There's a myriad of ambitious Democrats that thought their time to shine would be 2028, but if Kamala wins, that means they'd have to wait until 2032. Newsom and Whitmer are the main ones, and they have expressed presidential ambitions. Picking one of them means you don't have a messy convention.
