I don't think 2020 was a landslide at all, which is why they could get away with fortifying it. Trump had a mixed first term and the stink of covid on his administration. 2024 is completely different. People talk about November like its a foregone conclusion that the Dems will fortify their way into another victory. I don't doubt that they will try, I have doubts that they will succeed.

The fact that they've somehow gotten it accepted that they can stop counting at any time for any reason and restart it later, and stretch out the vote for a whole week, makes their cheating impossible to defeat by sheer numbers. In the past swing states were so important because they stopped cheating: you had to know which states were going to go which way ahead of time so you could stuff the ballots, and when an unexpected state would flip, you'd lose. That's why the concept of 'beyond the margin of cheating' exists (that, and ballot stuffing generally happened before counting, so you could in theory overwhelm it).

Now that they can blow the rape whistle and stop a count as soon as Trump has a decisive victory looming, it doesn't matter how many votes he gets in what state. They'll just stop the count, stuff the ballot box, and then dump a ton of Democrat ballots that only vote for Harris (or whoever) that just happens to edge the count past what Trump's is. Repeat the process every time Trump's numbers edge past their spike, and eventually they win because Trump has a finite number of votes and they have an infinite number of blank and rescanned ballots.

The only way to prevent this is to physically go in and stop the counters from pausing the vote, scanning fraudulent ballots, accepting dumps of ballots after the cut-off time, and rescanning ballots over and over. That's what poll watchers are for, but in 2020 all the Republican aligned ones got thrown out of key counting places in the states that flipped, or they were tricked into leaving by the count 'stopping for the night' only to start again unsupervised (and when they would occasionally get recounts, the poll watchers would be forced to stand 50+ feet away where it was impossible to see the ballots the people were counting).

In theory the other way to stop this is to have politically neutral ballot counters who have no interest in who wins and therefore will not participate in fraud, but that's not going to happen.

If the VP serves less than half a term it does not count as serving a term for the purposes of the 2 terms limitation. Thus, you can in theory have 2.5 terms if you are a VP and your president dies 2 and a half years and one day into one of his terms.

Indeed. 2020 was the perfect storm for them, and they just eked out the 'win'.

Weird then. The Dem's don't have any great options at the moment, especially saddled with Kamala, but their best case would probably be to have Joe step down immediately, and put Kamala on the job so people actually know who she is/give her a chance to prove herself. An incumbent typically has a better chance than a virtually unknown.

With that said, Kamala is so utterly unlikable that more exposure would probably only hurt her, so who knows?
 
The gaslighting and bias going on right now to support Kamala is insane. Browsing the media places like X. Sure X still has plenty of sane people I follow but there's so much pretence and delusion now that Trump is failing, Kamala is amazing. Biden is amazing for dropping out. Media is already pushing all the anti-Trump and pro Kamala narratives.

So I guess the prediction they'll dump Biden and go into a massive gaslighting campaign whoever is replacing him is beloved and brilliant ended up being correct. Even people in my personal life who in the past I know thought Kamala was a bad choice last time round are writing in chat threads how wonderful she'll be to compare how bad Trump is.

I honestly don't understand how people are such sheep.

Yeah, I’m going back and forth watching FOX/CNN to get a feel for the spin from both parties. CNN is going on and on about Harris having the nod and how she will destroy Trump in a debate (lol). FOX is pointing out how the restoring democracy party is currently circumventing democracy by forcing a candidate who hasn’t won a thing.

I think Joe is so cooked that they had no choice any longer. I'd like to think that even though we didn't get to hear it on live television, there was a call involving several top party members. where Biden let a few "niggers" fly, maybe in reference to Obama.

Hunter better start typing up his pardon and get it stamped before it's too late. Joe had also better hope that he has a few loyal secret service men that will guard him day in and out because the party would totally suffocate him with a pillow for sympathy in the news media.
