I wonder if his CBD/Kratom use correlates with him switching over from regular old alt-history to his doomer/religious/schizo/incel rants. I miss those, they were entertaining, detailed, and at least somewhat realistic predictions of what might've happened. You can tell this dude is a great researcher, but is blinded by his own insecurities and ego. I had to stop watching his videos completely after he started opening his videos like each one was a manifesto or life changing historical novel.
True, Rudie is good for both reading and remembering books, that's why he's always trying to judge people by how many books they've read, he knows he's gonna win that metric. But he's also not very bright, he doesn't fully understand how to apply what he reads to other contexts, and that's why he makes sweeping and inaccurate generalizations in almost all of his videos. His Japan video is a great example of this

The earliest mention of kratom was about two years ago which he claimed he "took for his PTSD" which would fit into the timeline of dropping althistory (and the collapse of the social club era) all we can hope is he realizes this goes back and then does some collabs with more "normal" YouTubers (an actual pipe dream)

It's honestly amazing how everything he posts is just bitterness and resentment about his personal life and high school. It's hard to find a statement he makes about politics, history, or society that isn't derived out of some form of personal spite.
He grew up a Quaker and from a well-off family, attending private schools during all his childhood and also went to college (before dropping out the first year) on daddy's dime. Safe to say that his worldview in regards to how other people behave/what they know is very limited, exacerbated by the fact that he's always being an avid reader, he thinks he's always the smartest guy in the room just due to that.
He was raised in an upper-class family, went to private education, and wasn't told what he was saying was wrong, misinterpreted, or flat-out batshit by people with common sense. When he was called out, he mopes about it unto this very day because how can a guy who does nothing but read books be wrong about anything? This would backfire on him when he got to college when he had to contend with the fact he had to defend his viewpoints from people with differing worldviews. Rather than do this, he'd dropped out just so he wouldn't have to deal with them which shows how Rudy handles confrontation.
Drugs, booze, and a generally poor lifestyle will make you age faster. Plus the fact he does nothing but bitch about the "decline of the West" puts a nice dent into his wellbeing because it's not uncommon for the inner state of a man to reflect his appearance and vice versa.

As far as I'm aware it's most likely inherited, he mentioned before that his mother is mentally ill (from How to Survive the Coming Crisis) and from another tweet he makes it seem likes his parents were basically insane vaccine and doctor hating paranoid schizos.
