It's very amusing watching Patty squeal like he is right now but it also disappoints me slightly that Biden dropped out. It sorta gives Pat an out for when Trump wins now as he can say something like how Trump wouldn't have won if Biden had stayed in the running. "Biden would have beaten Drumpf, stalker. You should not have forsaken him, child." I think it would've been more entertaining for Biden to stick around and lose for himself, but then again piggy is just going to oink either way.

Anxiety is still justified. If worrying about Fat Man and Little Boy seemed reasonable, how should people feel now when there are thousands of nuclear weapons ready to go with orders of magnitude higher yield?

Obviously you can't live in constant fear, but I also don't understand people who talk about nuclear war like it's some old, solved issue or that it wouldn't be such a big deal. These weapons have existed for less than a century, and we've been lucky insofar they haven't been used in a large-scale nuclear exchange yet, but luck will run out at some point. MAD is appropriately named, it's not a doctrine that will sustain peace indefinitely as long as nuclear weapons exist and are deployed.

(These are my general thoughts on nuclear weapons, I'm not saying Trump will cause a nuclear war or even that his being president would increase the likelihood of one)

Precisely because they've grown so devastating. Who the hell would ever use nukes? Even Russia and Nork keep making empty threats, everyone knows it's bullshit and they wouldn't. Which is why proxy wars are fought via non-nuclear countries instead.

Nobody sane is going to press that button. There isn't even a button to be pressed. If Rick somehow became POTUS and decided on some retarded first strike on Russia the CIA would immediately and quietly get him his piggie wings and halo. The USSR was much the same, and so is modern Russia for the most part. In a world where consequences don't exist Norks totally would, but this is not such a world, and despite all the doublethink rhetoric like "Kims be godz" they just know it.

The biggest risk is proliferation among unhinged Saracen ragheads. Nevermind the fact that Iran MIGHT be the one country that's crazy enough to launch - if non-state actors like ISIS get their hands on a warhead and a means of delivery they absolutely will use it anywhere that will kill the most people, and potentially trigger MAD. Because you know, they're cousin-fucking Mohammedans.

Patrick side-note: Does he tweet on Threads, Blue Sky, and X all day? Does he dump from his X to the other sites, or does he make seperate, different tweets on all social sites?
Either way- it's truly a mental illness. Posting on 3+ social media site for 18+ hours each day should get you a 1-way trip to a rubber room.

He reposts some tweets, not all, to Threads and Bluesky. Sometimes also to Facebook and Instagram, though his engagement is particularly miserable there (single-digit likes).

Actually I don't think he understands what Instagram is for. He literally reposts pictures of his tweets.
