The setup they wanted was Biden hanging on through November, then handing things over to Kamala once the next 4 years were secured. The debate+assassination attempt made it clear November wasn't secured, and Biden would either continue to decline or suffer another real health setback.

Plan B is Biden dropping out of the race, hiding in the WH basement while Kamala gets the nod. The sudden dropout looks bad, but hopefully they can spin Kamala as "new blood" while having all the institutional support. They quietly hide Biden and let the election take everyone's attention, then he retires in January and no one ever knows Jill was running the place for the last 7 months.

However, if Biden has to leave office, the Party looks bad and Kamala looks complicit in a coverup. Whether he dies or just goes senile, you can't have top Democrats plus their nominee swearing to his good health for 4 years, then have that lie abruptly exposed. They need to keep him alive and under wraps until Election Day.

So I think the point of this call is to give the illusion that Plan B is in effect, even though Biden is bedridden. It's a relatively small lie, and I bet there's a designated fall guy on Biden's team who will swear Harris didn't know it was a fake call. Someone, somewhere has made the call that invoking the 25th makes this election a disaster for the Party, so they're faking it until they can get Biden walking again or they can drop the act after Election Day.

It makes way more sense to me that Biden is severely ill, possibly gravely ill, but there is still some hope he'll recover so they're hiding him until that happens. The difficulty of coordinating a fake live conversation with a pre-recorded message so that it sounds natural is too big of a risk, especially for someone as untalented as Kamala Harris. She would have to memorize his "lines" and speak at exactly the right times to sell it. They would have also had to have him pre-record this video before his death, with the intent of playing it after his death, which is a ridiculous idea. If he was on his deathbed, it's highly unlikely he would be lucid enough to actively participate in a scheme to fool people into thinking he was alive after he passed, and even if he was lucid, I find it hard to believe that he would willingly participate.

Homie, I can clone a voice with a 30-second sample and generate responses quickly and easily once the model is fine-tuned. Biden models already exist; you can do that on your computer right now; imagine what they can do on theirs with infinite resources. There is no need to "coordinate" shit. People take natural pauses to think and to speak; lag and latency are normal with cell connections.

As someone else mentioned, you can also do speech-to-speech voice changing once the RVC model is built. Just have someone else talk and run it through the voice processor. YouTubers use this tech all the time. Once it was tuned correctly, you'd never know it wasn't them.

The only reason for covering up Joe's death I can think of is that would make Kamala President, and there's no way they could remove her from the top of the ticket. Kamala herself, the one who is supposed to immediately take power upon Biden's death, would scramble to do so as quickly as possible because she is a power hungry weasel, and because she is legally obligated to regardless of her own intentions. Lack of benefit aside, I find it hard to believe that she would be willing to either hide the fact that she is President or allow her subordinates to delay her swearing in.
