When Cover made Hololive, which is arguably the biggest vtuber company, the goal wasn't to create live streamers, it was to make anime girl idols who would also live stream games and do karaoke streams as an additional revenue source and method of gaining influence when youtube and bilibili streaming was a big deal. They figured that they while they were small, could do live stream concerts for much cheaper than having to rent out stadiums, tv spots, and concert halls. Hololive vtubers referred to themselves as idols and were chosen for being both experience streamers and having singing talent, and ever since, any vtuber is called "idol" by default by weebs and people who come over from the fandoms of Japanese vtubers, even if the vtuber has no intention of doing music.

Usually, with cringe english vtubers, these fans fall off and are replaced by the generic twitch simp audience, who have no idea about any of this and don't use the term anymore. Pippa is one of the few who has retained these fans and so has a fanbase where they keep the term around.

All the fucked up stories about her immediate and extended family aside, it's pretty clear just from her personality that she had a rough childhood/adolescence and developed a lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms to get through it -- depression, dissociation/avoidance, alcohol abuse, preemptively pushing people away so they can't abandon her, it's all pretty standard for childhood neglect.

Does she talk about her parents? It does sound like she was raised by neglectful, potentially abusive parents. Does she currently live on her own? I can only speculate but there has to be a reason for her to live like this when she is raking in the cash and could easily afford to buy a clean house and pay someone to come by once a week to clean. Either she is really severely mentally ill or still in an abusive situation, perhaps she is the sole caretaker of an elderly parent so she can't move away? Why isn't pooner gf rescuing her from this situation?

She moved out to live with the guy that groomed her and then moved back in with her parents some years later, as I understand it. She's mentioned that her relationship with her parents improved due to having some distance from each other.

It also hasn't been properly emphasized that things like the vomit drawer and mold and self neglect are all relayed in retrospect, implying that her life is no longer like that. She seems to be doing better, claiming that she only lets dishes pile up for a couple days now. I think her parents have accepted that she's a retard and they have a less adversarial relationship now that she's bringing money into the household, but that's just a guess.

Even if she improves, what would she do for a living? She's 26 already, doesn't have a degree, has almost no IRL friendships, multiple mental illnesses, and lives just south of the den of weirdos that is Portland.
