I like what they did with Poof. Turned the worst character into one I actually want to watch. I like how he sounds like pilot Cosmo all suave. This might get me to watch the show just to see what happens nglPoof has returned in the new Fairly Odd Parents:
Never really liked nor hated Poof because he was just kinda there, floating in place.Poof has returned in the new Fairly Odd Parents:
While John K is a sick perverted freak, he was fucking right about 'cartoon writers' and that they should be kept away from animation at all costs. So, the R&S reboot has leaked in full apparently.

If you think it's insane how this looks like every other cartoon reboot/continuation with the same lineart, same stilted animation, and the same pseudo meta humor that falls flat, you're not insane because this show was animated by Snipple, who also did the reboots for Animaniacs and Tiny Toons. It is incredible how they took the old Tiny Toons bit where they would make a joke and then explain why it's funny but in an even more belabored and unfunny fashion.
Funny enough, this happened:>Nick treats any show that isn’t SpongeBob-worthy of success like crap
>CN hasn’t had any new shows for the past two years thanks to the Discovery merger
>Sony’s been making shows based on their animated films and outsourcing them to Nelvana
>DreamWorks and Universal has inconsistent quality with their output
So, the R&S reboot has leaked in full apparently.

Wait what the fuck, I thought this was just more reboot slop? Poof inheriting Pilot Cosmo's suave salesman demeanor (and having a personality beyond "baby") sounds fucking sick.Poof has returned in the new Fairly Odd Parents:
This on the other hand IS the reboot slop I was expecting. So, the R&S reboot has leaked in full apparently.

I still think the fact that Ren & Stimpy is getting rebooted in 2024 is just a testament to destroy the fact the 90’s version of it was superior.View attachment 6224987
Bill Wray was right.
It wasn't that he hated "writers" in general, as some people said, he had an understandable problem with the sort of hack TV writers who couldn't draw and didn't care about cartoons but had taken over American cartoons by the end of the 1960s, and how cartoonists and artists lost all creative input and control over animation, even down to the art itself. While John K is a sick perverted freak, he was fucking right about 'cartoon writers' and that they should be kept away from animation at all costs.

Yep, that's why I put 'cartoon writers' in quotes.

Lord knows the sort of cartoons we had in the 90's are never coming back.I want to get Rocko's modern life but it has been ruined with the tranny reboot a few years back. does degenrate and political reboots stop any of you guys from watching the original?
I have the complete series on DVD. Outside of like one or two edited episodes (the one where Rocko and Heffer spend a night at a slut motel and the one where Heffer get's sucked off by a milker and he falls in love with it), it still holds up to this day.I want to get Rocko's modern life but it has been ruined with the tranny reboot a few years back. does degenrate and political reboots stop any of you guys from watching the original?
To quote crisis on infinite earths (the original comic not the movie)the sort of cartoons we had in the 90's are never coming back.
I may be wrong but major aspect of this is that cartoons are no longer meant to be wacky and fun with simple yet entertaining stories. There has always been this obsession with the idea that kids shows being socially aware along with being serious and cool is inheritably better than simple and funny wacky content. The irony is that even adult entertainment suffers from constant sex and toilet humour, being degenerate for the sake of it.I think the biggest issue animation is facing right now is that they stopped doing cartoons for children years ago, and now they are seemingly exclusively targeting man children for some reason. All major networks are guilty of this, but Disney might be the worst offender.
Don't get me wrong. There's a place for adult cartoons and edgy shit. I am personally fond of Smiling friends. I just think it's a little creepy seeing adults in salivating about The Owl house or Steven Universes, all while children are being ignored because they are invading their spaces
Say all you want about Teen Titans Go and the endless Sponge Bob episodes, at least they are made for real children. Not Disney adults.
Your typical cal arts show made by woke idiots for the twitter woman/man children crowd that pretend to be for kids are pure cancer and the real reason children's western animation is dying.
I couldn't care less about them but I am glad that the new Fairly odd parents reboot and Bluey are aiming to entertain kids again.
To be blunt the twitter/reddit crowd needs to grow up.
Which have been infiltrated by these manchildren who want to push their creepy fetishes and gay ships into the show knowing they'd get away with it because Hillenburg is dead and Nickelodeon/Viacom is okay with pedoes.the endless Sponge Bob episodes
Well, I wasn't trying to correct you or anything, it was just that I've seen people who rush to the defense of the latest beanmouth garbage animated sitcoms get all huffy about terms like "writerspeak" "OH, I GUESS CARTOONS DON'T NEED ANY WRITING AT ALL", like they're pretending to be ignorant about what people mean when they talk about "writer cartoons", and it's managed to get as bad now as it was back in the 1980s, when every other show was some toyetic kiddy show/commerical where animators were forced to do exactly what some hack with no feeling for visuals wrote.Yep, that's why I put 'cartoon writers' in quotes.

It's worse in some ways because for the most part "cartoon writer" hacks were just people trying to crank out enough content, now your average "writer drive" cartoon is written by hacks who think they're clever or "deep", which manifests itself in Bojack-like “LA is so great, I love being there but also I can’t afford rent” type slop that most writer driven cartoons are about now, or shows riddled with therapy-speak or barely one-dimensional characters engaging in scenarios to whip up fake pathos that's supposed to make the audience feel something.
