And the craziest part is according to another nigger in the thread Bungie tried their best to sabotage them whenever possible.

They never got over AoEII being more successful than Myth.

(It's a joke, I love Myth).

Do we have any solid info on the matter? I've heard the "Bungie hated Halo Wars" story quite a few times, but I'm curious about the source.

Yeah tip of the spear was a pretty cool mission. Reach was not a terrible or insulting campaign. Its just not the apocalyptic doomsday that should have made New Mombasa look like a cakewalk. "The fleet that glassed reach was 50 times this size" when I'm pretty sure there are more ships and supercarriers in halo 2/3/the battle of earth than the 2 Carriers and 3 corvettes (the smallest ship size in any given navy fleet) in halo reach.

As much as people bitch about sprint. I don't see enough give Reach's iteration of reticle bloom shit for being a horrible mechanic that allows you to fire blank rounds and miss shots that real life firearm equivalents would not have missed even within point blank range. Even 343 has consistently made a better DMR than the Reach DMR.
I only became a reach hater with MCC, the DMR even with bloom utterly renders every other gun useless still, the DMR also had utterly absurd damage against vehicles, invasion went from my favorite mode to absolute ass due to modern players being better/being locked to competitive in MCC.

Halo multiplayer was honestly better when the auto aim wasn’t busted, when we played mostly on TV with shitty equipment on 30 fps.

The only time I noticed the DMR being a bit busted was in BTB game modes like Invasion or Big Team Slayer when you would have 4-5 of them teamshotting everything that moved from across the map without missing/using aimbots. It was nice to see Breakpoint finally be added to invasion matchmaking though.

I miss multi team rocket hog race for reach. It was the best gamemode they ever made and just the right mix of chaos and objectives and not retarded like that forced "desert bus" meme I see on the custom browser.

Bloom baffles me as to why anyone thought it was a good idea. Like sprint, everyone argues about it, but I understand why they did it. They wanted to follow the trends at the time, and that's fine. But whoever thought bloom was a good idea needs to face the end of a Halo 2 BR for their sins. It adds nothing and only makes guns worse, which is kind of a problem in a game so focused on combat like Halo.

They didn’t want to nerf the damage/have the game be precision dominated? It doesn’t add up since the game is arguably still dominated by it even with the bloom.

I think bungie saw the writing on the wall and we’re slowly growing sick of esports so they started to do what infinity Ward do in cod and make changes to spite tryhards.

I know this is a place for serious Halo discourse but I saw this and had to share it

Instead, we are getting another remake of Combat Evolved perhaps even on the Playstation.
The funny thing about the current state of the Halo franchise is that if they released an anniversary version of Halo 3 they would make squillions of dollars. People have so much nostalgia for that game that it would potentially rejuvenate the whole community and give Halo 7 a chance of success.

Assuming both games were executed properly, which 343 are incapable of.

It's just our job to keep Halo alive at this point. No H3 anniversary will ever give us back the xbox 360 multiplayer, and despite what everyone praises I honestly despise the art changes to CEA and H2A, so similar to CE+ I think emulation and mods will preserve MY Halo experience.
Remaking games and playing it safe won't restore most goodwill they killed since Halo 4. I guess you can salvage a few idiots who drooled about Infinite and are infinitely coping (no pun intended).

We already have MCC that makes no sense, and outside of human faces Halo 3 still looks very good. Also Like I and others have stated Halo 3 multiplayer is fucked now and no one will stay after a month.

Played MCC on my PC for the first time, used my Xbox controller. Got it during steam sale. Crashed first time on boot up lmao. But once it was running it ran pretty damn well. Hope it would, my rig rocks a 12th gen i9, 64 gigs ddr4, Samsung m.2 990, and a 4070 super lol.

Still don't know if I like PC or Xbox better. Been a Halo fan for over a decade, read a good chunk of the books. Never finished infinite though. The campaign just got grindy. Halo 2 is pure kino and my favorite.

Infinite's campaign isn't that grindy. The Gunplay was genuinely better than the bungie games and the banished were more fun to fight besides hunters.

Didn't they add back in hunter boarding for halo reach on the MCC? I recall it being in the game once a few years ago and 343 has a habit of stealthpatching the MCC to remove shit and be as unfun as possible while adding faggot nameplates no one asked for.

I had a better time emulating the halo games or dusting off the old 360 than dealing with 343's fuckery and the "quitting" penalities that don't punish AFKers. They only punish actual players fed up with antisocial retards on their team either throwing the match or abusing the in game betrayal boot feature and made me completely abandon MCC matchmade multiplayer altogether.

Infinite just kept going. It was fun, but the open world killed it for me. I agree the gunplay and enemies were kino though

The first half was definitely dragged out, but then the later half is over before you know it with a boss rush of back to back boss arenas. As soon as you got the bosses shields down the fight was pretty much over with the striker sidekick or the most broken weapon in the game: The Gravity hammer. This includes trivializing the 4 phase Tremonious fight and some reason being better than any rockets when killing hunters. Which was where the game should have ended. Instead of that female diversity hire version of the prophet of truth that was completely unnecessary with a story arc that went nowhere. Skimmers aren't a very good replacement for Drones and look more like flying monkeys from the wizard of OZ than proper aliens.

The firefight mode was definitely worth grinding despite everyone rolling their eyes when I mention it to them. 343 seriously needs to add some of these excellent player created forge maps to them that aren't remakes of existing ones and remove stock multiplayer maps from that playlist. Its crazy having 24 person firefight and actually feels like a warzone. Too bad whatever patch the streetshitter interns rolled out within the last 3 or so months bricked the game so it crashes on startup now. Same with the MCC but to a lesser extent.

Infinite firefight also recycles all of the bosses from the campaign. So it helped to have some practice before fighting them on the much easier legendary campaign versions. There needs to be more vehicles in it besides the 1 warthog or chopper per match.

IIRC, it's still in the game, but you need the Bandana skull to activate it. It makes the Hunters really easy to kill, which is probably why Bungie removed it.

The campaign was ok but not as good as the previous games. The final boss fight was a pain in the ass on heroic. I wish the game allowed you to bring the marines with you on the missions.
