The polls are why Biden dropped out. Before doing so most polls had Trump at a solid +5-8 points ahead of Biden. We were celebrating then. I see no reason to continue paying attention to them *especially* when they can be used to predict how things will play out in November. Anything else is just cope.

This whole week is making me feel bipolar as fuck. After trumps attempted assassination I was like “there’s no way he’s gonna lose”. Now I’m like “we might just be fucked”.

I'm amazed any Kiwis are paying attention to polls so much

Like...I wasn't here in 2016 but I thought everyone finally agreed that polls were bullshit after how everything shook out.

It doesn't mean that Trump isn't popular, but like...Hillary was *clearly* in the lead in polls leading up to 2016.

Pay attention to what the PEOPLE are saying, not what the media is telling you.

I swore I saw a tweet or article saying Trump's team already had plans for how to deal with Kamala since May. I don't want to say I have absolute confidence yet, but I would presume Trump has a game plan that will make Kamala crash. I am not going trust the plan nonsense, it would just be idiotic for the Trump campaign to not have gamed out how to deal with Kamala's own weaknesses and how the DNC would handle her campaign compared to Biden.

This. They're just laying the groundwork for fraud and it's so blatantly obvious. The only saving grace right now is Reuters were jerking off Biden to the last and have always had Harris about tried with Trump. There is a small chance the Reuters poll is an outlier but I wouldn't count on it. Even if it is, I think we can expect Trump's lead over Harris to evaporate to 1 point or less.

You'd have a point if and only if TPTB aren't willing to cheat. They will never allow another 2016 to happen again. They have said so themselves even. If the polls don't represent reality, they will make them represent reality.

I think you're overreading this. The Democrats just got thrown into an extremely volatile situation. Their campaign was cratering in a historic fashion for the last month, and now they have to start a new campaign with a shit candidate and only 3 months to go. They're doing the only thing they can, churning through the war chest at break neck pace.

What else should they be doing in this scenario?
