Genshin Impact Fandom - Chinese game racist #BoycottGenshin *spends $100* *spends $100* *spends $100*

I guess not many people knew how much Mihoyo/Genshin is effectively a money printing machine that has made BILLIONS of Shekels. Here's one fun stat.
I don't mind if people had other questions that I might know since I'm a 2020 player.

Saw the community post, surprised people don't realize how much fucking money hoyo is making. Mihoyo, the GAME COMPANY, the GENSHIN IMPACT company, bought a 65 million dollar nuclear reactor a good bit back. Anime gacha games rake in the money by the dumptruck. They're a corporation that realized they could tap into the 'suspiciously wealthy furry' type of bank accounts.

Its funny that as projects wind down mihoyo releases a new gacha to cattle disenters and droppers of thier last one into while pulling in new users into the new project and it works well enough that a good proportion of people who dropped genshin and started hsr/zzz will adamantly defend thier new toy while screaming at the old one even though all their money is still going to the same place.

Honestly Genshin is slowly winding down. A large contribution to it's lightning in a bottle success is
1. Releasing during peak Covid
2.Advertised itself as a Breath of a Wild style game.
Star Rail has caught my interest much more lately; ZZZ I tried an hour and was disinterested.

Because a small minority of players going F2P will definitely hurt the pocketbooks of a company that's big enough to have several games going on at the same time. Not to mention they'd need to get all the whales, I mean, "Content Creators" to stop spending.

It's amazing how highly these people think of themselves. As a side note, what's this about the bunny girl?
Honkai Impact 3rd had a playboy-style bunny girl event for their third anniversary (2021), but it was not available on the China server. Chinese players got angry at being excluded and made torture/death threats online towards Mihoyo employees. One man broke into Mihoyo headquarters with a knife to kill the two CEOs and then kill himself, but he was arrested before he could reach them. Mihoyo removed the bunny girl event from all servers and gave out free pulls to the CN server as an apology.

As of recent, Hoyoverse (same company, different name) tried to fix a "bug" of the hydro DPS character Neuvillette where he spins a full 360 degrees really fast with high camera sensitivity, making him the strongest AOE damage dealer in the game. Chinese players threatened to report them to the CCP for fraud, and doxxed several employees.

They reversed the fix, apologized in less than a day and gave everyone 10 pulls worth of primogems. I think they are scared of their CN playerbase more than anyone else.

ZZZ is a game where i end up falling asleep midgame due to how fucking boring the TV puzzles are.

The bunny girl incident is worse than that. CN wasn't pissed because they didn't get the event, they were furious that "their" girls were being "prostituted for the west." One of the characters involved was Fu Hua, who in the HI3 CN community is generally accepted as representing China and Chinese culture, so having her in a bunny suit + Chinese nationalism + the rampant waifu culture of the fan base means they went fucking nuclear.

The same thing happened in GI when Zhongli—again, representative of China—was dog shit on his release. CN bullied MHY into doing the only post release rework in Genshin history. CN law requires MHY to honor requests for certain financial information, so CN banded together and flooded the company nonstop exclusively to waste their time and money until MHY gave in. People were putting in calls to the CCP with accusations of MHY being anti nationalist by making the god of fantasy China incompetent and weak.

The reason MHY is scared of pissing off CN is because they do shit like this when they're mad.

Brow skin with white/yellow hair is the only good looking combination you can get with brown skin. Brow skin just looks bad, in anime and in real life. Mualani looks cute AF and I'm already saving for her.

It's a repeat of the Zhongli case, then? Ironic, considering both of them are fan favorite dragon themed characters. Said it before but I'm gonna keep saying it. Nerfing the fun shit in a single player adventure game withgacha shit tacked on, ESPECIALLY if it involves characters people take a liking to, is a fucking recipe for disaster. I'm just glad both times they walked back on it, because most western devs would just get some game journo media group to call gamers entitled racists or some shit. Or completely ignore it and keep nerfing everything into the ground till the game dies a brutal death of unplayability.

Plus there's little much to do between major updates. I think most players would have hit AR 50-55 catching up to the story, and there's nothing else in terms of content unlocks beyond that.

I was trying out Zenless recently and it reminded me of how satisfying it was to hit world level milestones. (Genshin does it better). The UI sucks on so many levels though. I can't recommend it to anyone in its current state, sadly. Genshin's the only reason I can understand the game since it's got a familiar gacha and customisation system.

Genshin will still last a couple of years considering their pipeline for content (waifus, story and geography). Fontaine was stunning when it released even though at its core it can all be stripped away to find the game from 2020. A big part of the appeal for me was knowing they had a story planned out right from the start so the game can be 'finished' so to speak. Not like other gachas which can go on endlessly and/or terminate all of a sudden. The other was to spite BotW for being slop.

$91 per download is utter madness. They know their target audience too well.

Sorry for sperg

I haven't touched Hoyoverse games, I can dismiss them as pedoslop and gacha garbage which is promoted by CCPs department of culture. Phone addiction coupled with gambling and FOMO plastered by lolicon paint job is instant nope for all Hoyoverse games.

The Neuvilette situation is a little different because he went unchanged for almost a year. If they had acknowledged it was a bug right after he came out then I don't think anyone would've cared. But now that he's gone through several patch cycles, it's now a feature, and Mihoyo is afraid of changing characters because the CN userbase will cry false advertising or some shit.

Doubly so with the new hydro girl that had more dps then neuv also being nerfed after the outrage to be weaker then him.

I don't really trust them on that too much considering hey also claimed barbara's original English voice lines were a "bug" when it was clearly a change not a fix. Didn't affect the massive asian playerbase though so they never undid it despite mild griping/outrage from people that aren't insane twitter users.

Then the consoomeerism slaves go to twatter to complain and add flags of current things to their, gacha addicts are incapable of critical thought. Every "boycott" lasts a week or less.
